Where is everyone??

Recommended Posts

Alan,

Where do I start ?

Work's cr*p.....Weather's cr*p......no home games for a while...pre christmas blues ( bah humbug !)...can't get anywhere cos the traffic is sh*t all the time...too many people in a small bit of the country....the Cliffe Airport proposal...I would go on (....and on ! ) but I am losing the will to live !

3 points against Kettering on Saturday would help the situation greatly.....C'mon you 'Fleet !!

Cheers......

Quite funny to read the stuff on the Canvey board! Some one keeps going on(STILL) bout how the better team didnt go up last year, and how we only beat them at their gaff cos they were down from losing the FA cup! I not been posting, ive been to busy revising biology, boooooring!! for my mock exams!

Although the number of posting seems to have risen since we've come up, it seems like its the same old 7 or 8 faces posting all the time.

I know the website is advertised in the programme , but despite our crowds doubling over recent years it hasn't had the impact on here as I would have expected.

Dunno what we can do about it - But its just an observation.

But I think Wobbly Wayne being incarcerated in the Nursing Home for recovering Fleetaholics , does have something to do with it. Cos' at least there is usually a bit of humour floating about when he's online..

(Puts intelligent head on for once).....

ACORN stands for 'A Classification Of Residential Neighbourhoods.'

The basic idea is that streets of broadly similar people are grouped together. Your postcode is assigned to the type which is the best match with the unique characteristics of your street. Note that the type describes your street as a whole, not you as an individual.

The descriptions of the types are based on averages across all streets in the type. Your postcode may be a close match to this average. The matching process considers a large number of different characteristics. Since your type is simply the best match you will probably not match the description of the average characteristics in all respects.

There are nine separate aspects that describe behaviour and trends for that particular Type. These are:

Demographics. Includes the typical age range of residents, ethnic population and details of household composition in the area (single households, number of children etc).

Socio-Economic Profile. The unemployment rate, local industries, how skilled and educated people are, how they get to work and so on.

Attitudes. This section includes a wide range of beliefs and behavioural trends information, such as vegetarianism, willingness to try a new holiday, views on technology etc.

Housing. Informs you of the typical residential patterns in your area (owner-occupier, council tenant, second home) and of the predominant property types (flat conversion, bed-sits, detached houses).

Durables. Levels of car ownership, interest in goods such as video cameras, microwaves and tumble dryers, ownership of compact discs, books etc.

Financial. The area's typical incomes and the likely popularity of personal pensions, bank accounts and credit cards.

Media. Prevalence of satellite and cable ownership, as well as the most popular national newspapers, television viewing and radio listening.

Leisure. Other general information like the number of holiday's people take and the population's evening entertainment preferences, be it going to pubs, clubs or eating out; and how much people spend on these things.

Food and Drink. Details of shopping patterns, freezer ownership, the most popular kinds of foods and drinks and the number of smokers.

What I was getting at is that Gravesend & Northfleet are still officially 'economically-challenged' areas; as such not all our new support will have access to a p.c.

Likewise, the increase in support, although down to better quality players and the club playing at a higher level, can also be attributed partly to increases in the cost of watching premiership football, which some people may no longer be able to afford. As they still wish to watch football on a saturday afternoon, they go to watch their local team instead.

I may be wrong............

I think you may be right there Super Daz, However it seems to spread further afield than the Premiership.

I used to go and watch Crystal Palace regulary, (for my sins), however no days, it is just too expensive.

For one person to go to Selhurst Park, you have train fair, tickets, programme, refreshments and before you know it you have spent £60.00.

Not a cheap day out by any stretch of the imagination.

I think your talking NUTS.

Its more to do with Northfleets Uneducated Twat Syndrome.

But from little acorns do big oak trees grow..

Could this be a sign that the Fleet are on the verge of something big.

You mark my words - League footie in front of 5,000 plus crowds within 5 years, but there will still be only the same 7 or 8 faces on the message board !!

The Fleet - Onwards and upwards..
