Yesturday 7 members of our supporters team went to Wivenhoe and played in a 5 a side comp,the 7 players were piers shaw,mark chittock,ross bennett,joe boswell,reice speiete,richard sparkes and gary dover.We were but in group 2 and our results were as follows

Nuneaton boro 0 Canvey 4 Bennett2,sparkes,boswell

Man City 1 Cnvey 2 Bennett,sparkes

Canvey 1 Col Utd A 1 Dover

Harlow Town B 1 Canvey 1 Boswell

Afc Sdbury 1 Canvey 2 Boswell,Chittock

Canvey 1 wivenhoe youth 1 Sparkes

Braintree 0 canvey 3 Dover 2,speiete

Gold dragons(wivenhoe alliance)4 Canvey 0

 

1/4 final Col utd B 0 Canvey 1 sparkes

semi final Col utd A 1 Canvey 0

3rd/4th play off Blue Dragon 0 canvey (dragons win on penaltys in sudden deaf)

Still gutted about losing in the semi's as col utd were there for the taking but unfortunatly we just didnt perform.

 

Was a quality day and we tried our hardest to bring back some silverwear to the club but it wasnt to be.

 

Mark with his 1st goal......EVER!!!! A strike from all of 3 yards. Ahhhh memories.

I remember playing in the tournament a few years ago for TGTLS a team of Enfield supporters before the split and it was always a very enjoyable day even though we lost EVERY game we played.

Unfortunately after the split in the club our supporters team went into decline as most of the team followed the Town but a couple stayed and then since our manager and organiser passed away it has ceased to exist altogtherbut that was the sort of thing we used to do.
