That's the price for a single ticket to their gig at the Astoria on E-bay, a bit out of my price bracket. The standard prices have been estimated at £125 per ticket, nice to know the Stones aren't pricing themselves out of the market.

I might give it a try, but considering the Glasto tickets came out at £100 for 3 days entertainment and I paid just £60 for the Spanish festie, it's just ridiculous....

 

Seeing Gomez in Oxford tonight, woo-hoo, hope they do 'gonna get myself arrested', they could dedicate it that Costello fella.

The Streets played the Astoria last night, tickets for that on e-bay were well over the top as well.

 

I have two theory's on selling tickets on e-bay. Either everyone should stop buying them so we stop getting riped off or I should join them and start buying tickets for gigs that I know will sell out and make loads-a-money. Tickets for Robbie Williams next year are already fetching £200.

 

Nickleback tickets were only 60p so you can still get bargins though, although I wouldn't watch that rubbish even if I was given backstage and groupie passes (as in passes to use the groupies)

They were good actually, I'm just not a big U2 fan mainly due to the fact Bono is a tit who thinks he's really important.

They mainly played the older stuff so that was OK better than the new teenybopper stuff they churn out

Gomez were jolly good last night, Whippin' Picadilly and Get Myself Arrested were the highlights.

 

The other thing I thought could be a stumbling block was the lead singer's gravelly voice, could he carry it off live? yes he could.

 

To finish my biggest music year so far, I'm off to see the Manics at T'Academy on Sunday...

I saw BRMC and Dandy Warhols, I forget them, to be honest neither impressed that much live. BRMC seemed to get lost in a wave of fuzz and Dandy Warhols just posed a lot without a great deal effort.

 

What were Jimmy Eat World like? I like the album and reckon they'd be one to watch.

I quite enjoyed BRMC. I agree about the wave of fuzz - I just think I got lost with them in it!!

I saw them at The Other Stage at Glast and in Spain and neither crowd reacted particularly well to them, I guess it could of been their set up, but in spain Doves followed BRMC and the whole place seemed to come to life. Shame really, I liked their album.

Jimmy Eat World were very good - I'd go and see them again at a proper venue in their own right (saw them at Reading)
