The Program Next Season

After speaking to Malcolm Rowlett and Colin Page last night I will be doing next seasons programme.

There is nothing set in stone yet as to layout/size/style so the first thing to do is find the printer who can offer the best deal.

If anyone knows of a printer worth approaching (one that owes you a big favour would be nice!) can they let me know.

Might be worth looking in the Non League Paper's ads section for firms who specialise in doing progs.

Could try the printers below me Steve. Mention my name & that I put you in touch with them. Might or might not help,who knows. Wont hurt asking. Capital press northdown road(bottom end).Ask for Mike or Mark.They only specialise in things like this and are not now open to the public.They are there everyday though. Just knock on their door & see what they say. I know he was interested in a small way once about getting a board put up around the ground but nothing came of it. Might be worth asking & possibly doing a deal with them. Wont hurt to ask.

I will be more than happy to provide photos for the program. I suspect I can convert into decent black and whites if colour isn't an option (I'll need to check that later). I thought the player profiles that were occasionally included in last year's programs were a great addition, if the players can be persuaded to provide answers to a fixed set of questions like "football hero, favourite film, favourite cuisine" etc.

Just seeing what I can do with black and white photos. The pictures I've taken are large enough to cut full page images of individual players such that each programme could potentially include a star player for the week. This prints fine for me but I'm not sure how well it would photocopy. Does anyone have the means to try it out? What do others think, could this work in the programme, would it improve the overall impact? Match photos could also be provided separately. I think the attached is full page size but can be adjusted if I've got it wrong.

Hopefully we will be able to get the programme printed in a high quality as opposed to photocopied (I still have not ruled out colour either) so photo's would come out pretty much as it has on screen here. Depends on the quotes from printers though.

Do you think we could do up a page on what is happenning within MISA in the programme? Good bit of advertising for us if we could.

I am pretty sure that we can find space for that! There is only one thing I would ask though. I have seen other programmes where there is a page of editorial, managers notes, match reports, supporters club page, fans column etc which all discuss the exact same thing - thoughts on a match so would like the MISA page to concentrate on MISA functions and plans. Round ups of quiz nights etc that would encourage fans to come along to the next one may be a good way of recruiting new members.

Manager column would be good. I think I'm right in saying that CK always refused to write notes for the programme.
