I would be happy to deal with the youth write-ups...if anybody would ask me!! all i need is the results from each manager with scorers etc. I already do match reports for the under 13's so no hard ship to do more.

Lets start getting all youth age groups in the papers, on BBC Kent etc

The futures bright, the futures Margate!!

Would hope the team lists on the back page could be tidied up. How about if Margate Don is taking pics next season getting a new photo for each programme for the front cover. If it is ok with MD. Or if not then at least try and get them in the programme somewhere. We need to get either the photos or something good like the 98-99 one with the seafront along the bottom of the cover.

On the centre pages the facts & figures would be best to revert back to the old names in boxes 1-16 format across the page.

If Trotty wants to then manager's notes would be brilliant. Also an interview with each player. One player per programme. That would be good. Youth results. A couple of regulars doing columns would be a bonus too. Obviously we all want more content and I would prefer to lose the usual depth of reports & opposition history (keep them but halve the space they take up) and go for more off the cuff content with a couple of columns and player interviews.

I have been approached about doing the programme again next season and have roped in Jeff Trice to take care of the history side (and no doubt do the whole thing).

Nothing is definate yet but I am keen on re-taking the reigns. There are already a few ideas in place but the nothing has been finalised on number of pages etc. yet.

I think the club should aproach Sericol to make the programmes next season. I would also like the programmes to be more glossy and for all pages to be colour.

I would also like this but the printing costs would be a lot more. A possible option would be to have a sheet or two as full colour to accomodate match photo's/player profiles etc.

This is something that has been negelcted, even when I did the programme before, mainly because no-one would pass the info on. Any help on this would be extremely grateful as well as info on the reserves.

The team lists will (probably) revert to a simple expected starting 11 plus subs with plenty of room to write team changes. I do not think that there is any point putting the whole squad there. Also my obsession with having spaces to fill in the result, scorers, attendance etc on the back page may see that return

Photo's in the programme is a big want but, as I mention below, it really depends on the paper being used. When I was doing the programme before the covers were all printed before the start of the season and just the opponents/line-ups etc. were over-printed for the relevant match. This was because the printing firm being used did not have the facilities for edge to edge printing and it, therefore, had to be outsourced. I would imagine this would be the situation again but if it is not a photo from a recent game (players or supporters celebrating a goal) would be good.

Definately. The only slight variation on this maybe to use players initials instead of full names for space reasons.

This would probably work better as a 'From the Bench' which could be written either by Robin, Mike Flanagan or another member of the management team. Regular notes from the physio on players coming back from injury etc. would be also be good.

I did try this before but hardly any of the players responded, but it is still a very good idea that I would like to see implemented.

I am hoping to use alternative match reports (ie. from opponents web sites/local papers) because everyone would have already seen the report online or in the local paper and it would be good to get the alternative (and often very different) view.

I think in the Match reports page i think we could put 1 or 2 of MargateDons photos with the relevant match. I like the idea of an interview with a player.

I agree wholeheartedly but it would design on the type of programme. Glossy colour pages would be perfect. Glossy black and white pages would do. Plain black and white pages do not generally reproduce photo's well enough.

It still has to be finalised that I will be doing the programme but it will hopefully be the case. With Jeff's help (and that of a couple of others who have already offered) there should be no reason that the programme wont be a worthwhile read for the money. When I did the programme previously I was guilty of trying to cram too much in and ended up (at times) with such a small font that it was hard to read, just so nothing was left out.

There are a few other ideas that may be kept as a surprise for the first one but if there are any more suggestions or anything you have seen in another programme that you would like in ours post them here.

Best of luck with it.

Sure you will do a fantastic job.

Particularly like the relatively novel idea of match reports being as the opposition saw the game.

I think players interviews are important-we need to get to know them as guys just doing a job as best they can.I'm sure that way fans would get behind them more.

RT should make it compulsory that they co-operate.Everyone has a human life story that is interesting
