How do you know this? Why would we, as fans, know specific examples of attempts the club makes to sign new players anyway?

There is one Big factual error you keep making JC why the club should keep us informed is that it is desperate to sell season tickets.
Or do we storm the gates a week before kick off as we find out we have a side??????
The answer is if the club wants our money, then the average punter likes information, or some kind of feedback.
Why the hell do you think the larger cloubs let it leak who they may sign or re-sign.
I.E No Henry Arsenal may well have lost a hell of a lot of income.

Surely concrete information is better than speculation authorized by the club that may turn out to be false?

and most of a clubs hype in the prem is national media, plus with so many fans, the word goes round so much the details change slightly everytime. I don't think we would reap any benefits like premiership clubs do, from individuals leaking "news" to others.

If they are benefits at all. I can see how they could be quite unsettling for those in connection with the speculation and the club
