No thanks to Ryan Maxwell he made 4 rather poor appearances for us last season.

However, we still need bench warming goalkeeper,Striker and centre half.

Any canditates left at this our nursery club.

The Canadian centre half we picked up from the local retirement home for ex-footballers is pretty useful but far too young for your lot.

I note that he has signed a 2 year contact as well.

With a view exceptions, why is it that we are never prepared to put our money where our mouth is and sign players on a contracts longer than a year. It would ensure that players can't just walk away at the end of the season and would prevent them being 'poached' by other clubs.

I know that this obviously has financial implications, but it would give the squad a modicum of stability, even if it was for just a two season period?

In addition should the club find a 'gem' and bigger clubs show transfer interest it would enable the club to negotiate a transfer fee from a position of slightly more strength.

Is Jacko really as good as you guys suggest.

I really rate Protheroe, and when i last saw him a season ago,was impressed by Mckimms spirit.

Find it hard to believe that Jackson is better than both of them?

They all seem similar types to my limited knowledge-what are their various strengtht?

With Skins at left back and Jacko at left midfield I reckon the Gate are in for a succesful season and yes Jacko is the best of your signings from us.

Now you have signed a few more midfielders maybe you could move Proth's back to attacking right back which is his favourite position.

James Smith was given a two-year deal when he joined - but yes, it's usually a case of one-year contracts only.

It's hard to compare, given that Proths is playing in a different position for you, and that McKimm missed much of the season just gone through injury and so couldn't be expected to return at his best.

Nonetheless, in terms of what he would probably still offer the team, Jacko's certainly the player I'll miss the most out of the three.

Jacko will give you 100% every game. He is great at freekicks and corners and provided he stays free of injury will score important and spectacular goals for you. You should count yourself fortunate to gain a Conference standard player because of G&NFCs short sightedness in discarding the obvious few gems we still had here.

We are grateful to JJ ,Robin Trott, the Board of MFC for facilitating the deal, and the Board and Mr Daish of GNFC for their policy of releasing quality part-time players.

Yes ,one is grateful and realises MFC's fortune.

But we have not won anything yet.

all the best

Read the small print. In return for the free gifts you have received from us, your club is under contract to provide an extra 400 fans at Stonebridge Road when there's no game at Hartsdown Park to make up our numbers.
