Why dont the two clubs start a "fund" for the covers with the opertunity of individuals or groups to make a donation and raise the funds that way.

I remember a contributor to this site saying he would put money forward if cover was to be put up.

I will start the ball rolling by pledging £25 if a fund of this sort is started and there is permission to put covers up.

I agree to an extent Warren - if we are going to be at a ground for 20-odd matches a season then make it comfortable and help the hosts if they want it. But if we are only signed up for a 12 month agreement, I wouldn't be so keen on spending the cash, certainly not Trust money.

If we'd signed up for another 3 years I would think differently and the idea of Staines Rebel to start a joint fund and collaboration between the clubs for getting some covering then I would be for it and would contribute to that. But if we're only likely to be at the Stag for the next 12 months I would have reservations.

In either scenario I would be against the Trust using Trust money for ground improvements of another club. That money and future money raised has to be earmarked for the future of the football club or for helping with expenditures to keep the club going, not for improving the stadium of another football club.

The deal currently agreed with Windsor is to my understanding for one year only. Largely to see what effect the works have on the pitch.

I think that if the pitch is going to be as good as it sounds then we will be looking to stay in Windsor as it seems that we will be out of Slough for many years to come. The idea of covering is good news and im sure that money could be raised one way or another by both clubs.

as l understand it Peter Simpson has planning permission to build some sort of cover at the tea bar end of the groud, but prefers to spend money on the pitch for obvious reasons.Perhaps the club shop should stock S.T.F.C. umbrella's for anybody that wants to buy one.

Good idea Clive... an independant fund ..for that and that task only...

The trust has to consider requests from supporters thats why we are there, if the cost can be reasonable then the members will be asked to vote on it...we are not going to spend money if you don't want us to...
