Bruce Sewell

Recommended Posts

I've just been given the awful news that Bruce has been diagnosed as having Motorneuron Disease.

Friends are trying to raise funds him and his wife make his last weeks/months of his life as as comfortable as possible. As soon as I know how we help, I will post further.

Hi Guy's
Very sad news about Bruce my thoughts go out to him and his family.
He was a teammate of mine for a while at St Albans and a really good bloke who loved a laugh
If you manage to arrange something please pm me and I will try to get some of his old teammates to play.

This is indeed very sad news. Bruce did not play many games for us but he never let us down and I think he broke his leg whilst playing for us.

Anyway, time is of the essence here and given Bruce played for several Clubs if one of ex colleagues set up some form of pledge

facility, then anyone who felt inclined could help Bruce and his family. Maybe Dave could check his original source to see if Bruce's family or close friends are considering this.

Charity games take a lot of organisation and being closed season this will be very difficult.

Bruce was a great asset to the club & I seem to remember Andy Ford rating him very highly. He went on to be physio at Luton Town & is still listed as such on their website.

Even after leaving us, he returned for several Tuesday evening games & was a really positive influence in several games, like KSC Cup ties, where he organized & motivated younger inexperienced players.

Very sad news & as someone else has said puts our apparent problems into sober perspective.

A dreadful disease especially in one so young. Hope we can get something organised to help. I feel sure the supporters trust will do all they can to help. Unfortunately, an event could be hit by holidays, which I am sure is what affected Justin's match so much, but perhaps we could be advised as to where we could donate if we cannot get to the event itself. This kind of thing devastates the whole family of the person concerned and to feel that other people care must be some consolation, so I do hope that we have the opportunity to show that we as a club do care.
