Robin Trott has told Bertie Brayley that he does not form part of his plans for this coming Season and as such the Club has listed Bertie on the transfer list.

Robin has also released John Keister from the squad. John, who has been with the Club since March 2001, has been a dedicated servant to the Club and we wish him all the best for his future in football.

Up the Gate!

Now this IS disappointing news. Both these players, together with the new additions would surely have been a handful for the opposition. Maybe theres more to this than we know.Up one minute & down the next, thats how I'm feeling right now.Its obvious Trotty has his reasons so I cant judge him on these decisions today but it is highly disappointing nevertheless.Maybe he has been told to cut back on the finances, who knows.Maybe these players were asking too much, who knows.Maybe its just a case of balancing the books, which would be understandable.I for one will trust in Trotty with what he's doing.

Its still looking rosey for us but not as rosey as it was yesterday.A class act like Bertie will be missed. Johns workrate will be missed & his loyalty should be appreciated to the full.

We will still go close to winning this league this coming season I'm sure of it, with or without them. Its just a shame that they cant be here to join in with that success.

This is a shock to me,this news today, but we shall "just have to get on with it".

[color:"blue"]Wow, that is a shock - but I can see what he's doing (getting his planned signings before releasing players he wants), as has been pointed out we're overun in midfield & perhaps the savings in BB's wages could finance a better 'keeper or another goalscorer.

Have to hand it to Robin, he's making his own mark & picking a team he wants. That's a positive from what sounds like negative news.

Yeah, but if he doesn't succeed the coming season, he'll have alot to answer for and be out on his [****!!****]. Keister, Brayley, Edwards, Yiga, all good enough to stay, and I feel it will just be like for like as far as players are concerned.

Mitten

Oates / Trott / Donovan / Skinner

Protheroe / Mckimm / Deen / Abbott

Hockton / Pinnock

Looks really strong to me

plus subs: Sesay / Standen with room for more

Donovan,Abbott not sure about...AT THE MOMENT! Am open to persuasion on them though.Oates still a bit slow but has the talent & can accept. Rear guard needs looking at I think.

Yes we have room for more NOW,but in defence more than anywhere.Get that sorted & maybe, despite todays news,we have a complete & solid side.

With the other training regime did we ever see a really fit/lean (killing machine) Donovan

A real Shame to lose Bertie and JK <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> , but Trott is the gaffer!

And Blueblood you were right about JK not being retained.

As people have pointed out on this forum we do posses a good quality midfield now. So where would you have played Bertie because, as he has stated on more than 1 occasion he did not want to play upfront.

Would he have made the midfield? If not would he have been willing to sit on the bench? Would he have stayed with us for all of next season?

Well my answer to those 3 questions is no. So Trotty has in my opinion made the right decision.

As June has stated this just shows that Trotty is not frightened to make what appear to be unpopular decisions.

Finally I would just say onwards and upwards.

Sad to see both players leave but I'm not gutted to be honest. I think we will be better for replacing them with the players RT wants. Bertie was a big part of things last season so I'm grateful for that. If he hadn't signed then we probably wouldnt have got Hockton and then Trotty. Keister has been a big part of things in his time here and he's been a great part of the club. Good luck to both lads.

I've got a feeling that RT has got a player or two lined up to replace and if it is who I think it is then in my opinion it's a great piece of business.

If Bertie is on a contract wont we get transfer monies for him too? The monies saved on his wages plus any transfer monies may well be used in strenghning our team where needed
