Daish out!!!!

Chad

Recommended Posts

The guy has completely lost it. He has destroyed the team Andy Ford had built on a hard work ethic and great team spirit. The telling signs were there in 2004/05 when he signed fantastic players like Sigere and ditched Sidibe!!

I support Gillingham and have my season ticket there but always tried to attend a Fleet game if I could, they had become my second team....prior to Daish's arrival. The guy is completely tactically inept.

After my venture up to York to watch the worst 0-0 ever last year I vowed never to attend a Fleet game again until Daish is gone. Believe me he is the virus that is killing your club. Get him out before you really do go under.

Shall we just wait an see who Daish brings in and the performances of the first few games, before getting hysterical?

Yeah! lets all wait until all the best available players are signed up by other clubs and we are using the first half a dozen league games as trial games.....just like in the past.

And then wonder why we are chasing the pack so early in the season.

Sorry CG I ment to quote "Chad" anyway...

Everyone has more or less agreed on this forum that last year was disappointing and that some of the player were not up to scratch. A large number of players have gone, yet that is wrong too apparently reading other threads on here! I am not all that happy about Jackson going, but not that surprised. I won’t be shedding any tears over Gooding going that’s for sure! All I am saying is let’s wait and see what happens over the close season and who Daish gets in. If by game ten or fifteen next season we are in the bottom two places then fair enough shout Daish out as much as you like and I will probably join you! What the club needs right now is our support!

The worry is that robin Trott has assembled a squad at Margate, that for a year or two, be probably be better than anything we are likely to have with signings such as

McKimm

Provs

Skins

Abbott

Keister

Brayley

Hockton

Pinnock

all of who could do a useful job in the Conference

This is an ironic post isn't it.

Err, don't see any hysteria in my posting. Merely a comparison between a team in it's death throes last year on a seeming high, compared to us , now at an all time low.

"an all time low"? now you are just being silly.

We are all dancing in the streets over the comings and goings on at Fleet.
If we get a keeper signed on we will have a fair 6 a side team.
The clock is still ticking, not a new player in sight.
I don't think I have ever felt so gloomy awaiting a new season.
The reality is the pre-season games will start in about 7 weeks time.
The team needs to in place by that time.
LD needs to sign about 14 players of conferemce quality and experience, get them playing as a team and build a team ethic in that time.
For such a huge undertaking, I would have expected him to have at least made a start.
What have we got.
He got Danny and Luke to sign new contracts.

Well I agree with you that it is about seven weeks until we play a friendly and nearly three months before we play a competitive side but I can't quite understand why you, Mikefleet and the Tea Hut brigade are getting so excited about playing 5-aside matches in May.

As for the all time low, We are still, as far as I am aware, playing at the highest level the Fleet have ever played at. Last season, under our 'awful' manager who everyone, it seems, wants sacked we were safe from relegation earlier than we have been before in this run in the conference, and even our poorest crowd was four times the size of some that I and no doubt you C.G. have stood with down there in the past.

Just donning the rosy specs for a sec, CG, but we're not the only ones. Scarborough - should they stay in the Conference - have an entire squad to replace, 11 of them having just got the heave-ho including McNiven and Quayle. Aldershot, like last year, have only five or six contracted players.

So while, yes, I'm very concerned that there is zero news about players at this time, we're not in a unique position that some would have us believe – that only Daish of all Conference managers would be so careless as to let 3/4 of his squad go. It happens elsewhere too.

Why are we all getting in a tizz? We've only been in the close season for 3 weeks for goodness sake.

The close season is a terrible time - last year it was Fleet Loyal providing the 'entertainment', this year it's a Star Wars-like battle between the dark side supporters of Darth Daish and the Rebel Alliance (Chewbacca Gary, White Van Skywalker, etc etc)... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

You don't seriously think Moussa was of consistent Conference standard, do you?

Trust me, Forest Green away was worse, if you like seeing shots on goal in football matches.

Did James Pinnock look like he could do a 'useful job' at this level on a regular basis? Also, have you ever seen Hockton and Abbott play Conference football? 'Could' is certainly the operative word here.

So, in your opinion, since we're supposedly at an 'all-time low', things are worse at the moment than when the club nearly went bust in the 1980s.

People are right to have concerns - the purge of nearly all the part-timers, coupled with the blueprint (largely enforced by budgetary restraints) to predominantly bring in youngsters, has the potential to leave us with a worrying lack of experience next season, and has narrowed the scope for players we can bring in. But some people are just getting a bit carried away.

Think back to playing games at Southern League Division 1 level on various mud heaps of pitches in the 70's for a start - its concerning that we've had such a mass clearout, but then you only have to look round the league, and numerous other clubs have also released high numbers of players with (no doubt) similar concerns from many of their fans.

The coming season may turn out to be tough, but there are plenty of players out there who could do a job for us at our level - if we end up with a young team, who knows how things could turn out - take Watford as an example - one of the relegation candidates pre-season, but ended it play off winners and back in the Premiership.
