The Bone Collector - I was moved to shouting at the cinema screen it was so bad. The paraplegic cop who guides the new reruit by blinking his eyes or whatever it was and then to cap it all they get married - put me out of my misery.

 

Also - Glengarry Glenross - shouting estate agents

The Matrix - everyone raved about it but it was the biggest load of crap I've ever seen. Perhaps I don't take enough drugs.

more recently - Boat Trip - only saved slightly by Roger Moore playing the gay sugar daddy with trademark raised eyebrows

2 equally crap films, that co-incidentally share a shot from within an animal eating a human (Jaws, Shark eats man, camera in shark's mouth; Anaconda, Snake eats man, camera inside snake). Absolutely ridiculous. I mean, there are boundaries etc.

Do films that are so bad, they become cult count eg. Plan 9 from outer space. So bad, every cliche in the book, sets that move in the breeze and of course directed by Ed Wood.

I have issues with Nick Hornby and him being a gooner, that said,I really hate it when Americans try to formulate British ideas in to their own shows, the latest is 'The Office' which the Americans are going to try to adapt...

 

On one of my many travels I was discussing Faulty Towers, they love it over there, but Manuel, for them at least, is from Mexico, as opposed to Barcelona. Funny how they adapt these things, don't know how 'The Germans' episode would have gone down in Germany...

Yeah, "Fever Pitch" can be a harrowing read. The best bit comes early on when they get beaten by Swindon in the League Cup Final. His opinions are very 'right on' too which riles me sometimes.

 

But "High Fidelity" is a quality book, and one which I pick up again and again.
