That tw*t in the Echo

Did you lads see that letter in the sports pages of the Echo on Thursday or Friday.. It was suggesting the guys who are basically, giving up their own time to save Canvey are small minded etc.

 

Does this bloke have any idea of the harsh reality of non-league football. Like AFC Hornchurch and Romford a few years back. When the bank roller stops rolling life suddenley becomes very hard and you have to play safe.

 

Whilst I must admit that I was suprised the Jeff King factor was still that strong that it made such a big difference to your finances with him going, that is the reality and that is what you have to deal with.

 

I bet this guy never put his hand up to offer any help when the chips were down?

It's amazing how much a one sided view which is published in the Echo can do.

 

I read the other post on this forum but just thought what a twat. Didn't think I'd hear anything furtehr about it.

 

I had to take my son footy training on Saturday and a couple of the other parents, who don't live on the island, had scanned through the letter published in the Echo. Their opening comments were "so no one is going to watch Canvey next season and they could still just fold as no one is really interested" - I obviously put them straight but that letter has probably done a lot of untold damage. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

 

Hopefully the club will respond with a letter in kind.
