I think that is how his surname is spelt, but I'm sure someone will correct me. He was the centre-half who scored the first goal for Watford today, so will be playing in the Premiership next season. And yet, at the beginning of last season, he was playing for Northwood in the Southern Premier! He impressed in a pre-season friendly against Watford, so they snapped him up. From non-league to the Premiership in 3 seasons. It just shows the hidden talent that exists in non-league football.

Thing with De Merit was that he came over from America I think and was already playing at a decent level there. Non-League over here was just a stop-gap until he was picked up by a League club. He already had some trials lined up but was lucky that Northwood were playing Watford in a friendly.

First chance I've had to use a computer since getting back from Cardiff-that stadium is something else-totally mind blowing. Demeritt got motm and deservedly so. Fancy playing your first game of the season at Northwoods ramshackle ground and your last at Millenium Stadium. Ady Boothroyd is a legend and Trotty being young and has got attitude reminds me a bit of him-lets hope he can have the same kind of success.
