Season Summary

After a meeting at the start of the season the players and management agreed that the players would not post on here during the season. We would do our talking on the pitch. No offence to any of the lads who do but that is what we agreed and we stuck to it.

 

So I thought I would do a summary of the season and also a few players! I will slag the rest off next week!

 

Best performance – For me Burnham at home 4 – 0 win. By miles. We should of won by more. It was made better by my respect for Burnham. They have quality all over the pitch and how they have not got promoted I will never know. That game though laid down a marker of what we wanted to achieve.

 

Worst performance – two stand out. NOT Stansted at home, to me that was a freak result. Credit to them but for me the result didn’t reflect the game. The two I mean is Soham in the vase. We didn’t turn up. The best team on the day won but I feel we could of beat them. The other was Worthing. Although here the best team won. We were out classed on the day and they were better than us all over the pitch. They were flying in the Ryman Prem at the time. Quality showed.

 

Best win – Bowers away. If you were there I don’t need to say anymore. 1 – 0 95 min or something. That’s what Champions do.

 

Fans – I will never forget the way you clapped us off the pitch after the Waltham Abbey defeat. Things are easy when you are winning. You need support when things are down. You never let us down when we were letting you down. That’s what great fans do and the lads really appreciate that!

 

Toughest forwards – I can only judge my direct opponents. Harry Elmes and Tim O’Riely were a class apart.

cracking post pinnacle. you're not boring, you probably just got bored typing all that.

 

best performance - hullbridge away. one nil down, the lads looked at each other a bit puzzled as to how they were losing and then put them to the sword.

 

worst performance. i love the fa cup and i thought we would win it this year. nearly cried.

 

best win - bowers away. what pinnacle said.

 

fans - each and every one a legend - too many to single out, so i'll just thank mr hetchin for standing by me and singing along to "no you can't stop the afc hornchurch promotion" so i wasn't 'on my own'.

 

toughest forward - without exception, all of our opponents were weak pansies.

Good words Pinny me ol' mucker, agree with all you said with two additions:

The quality of some of our goals was top notch, Rikki's at LAPSA correctly winning the GOS, supreme volley on the turn, Budgie Byrne would have been proud of that.

Also a major highlight of the season was seeing your goodself train every week whilst banned and maintaining fitness and then returning to collect two winning cup medals, that's devotion for you and a big well done.
