If you actually read Langley Rebels post then you would see it said that he had been sent a message that morning by a member of the trust board, it didn't say that the meeting was called that morning!

Although, don't know why I am bothering to waste my time responding to you SR, as the Eurovision Song Contest is more entertaining than listening to you moan!

Clive, at 12.00 today no descision had been made. After visits to both Maidenhead and Windsor it was still unclear where we were to play next season. However after all the concerns (and there were many) were considered and taken on board by the club a descision that was best for both the fans and the club was reached.

1. The club considered all offers.

2. The club came to the Trust (representatives for the supporters) and wanted to know detailed opinions/thoughts/concerns of the fans.

3. The club have accepted what they believe to be best for everyone and have secured the playing future for another season.

What more can you ask for? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I am glad that it has finally been sorted out, and I do not mind having the trust making the decision for the fans, as I am sure that they would make the right decision and make a stand if they felt the club was making the wrong decision.

The important thing is that we have somewhere to play so we can keep playing while we fight for our common cause to get the club back into slough.

Well done to all involved for getting the deal done.

I think you are absolutely pathetic Staines. And bringing Langley Rebel into this is dsigusting. He asked me what I was doing today and I told him. I did not reveal any details other than the fact that I was at a meeting in Windsor.

This was a decision for the club to make but they consulted with the body that represents the supporters. Our membership is well over half of the average home gate. If you want to be represented by the trust you should be a member and if you disagree with our input you can vote the board members off and ideally stand for election yourself to see what position we were put in and find our what you would do in our shoes. We listened to the options and put forward a series of pros and cons for both and then a decision was taken by the club. I spent four hours of MY Saturday trying to put forward comments for all the supporters.

I actually applaud Roy and Bernard for their work on this one they have ended up getting a fantastic deal for the club which will hopefully stand us in good stead for the season ahead.

It is knee jerk reactions like yours with ill thought comments that make me seriously consider suggesting to the entire board of the trust that we should resign en mass and leave you to make your own representations to the club and see how far you get.

Excuse me for stating the bleedin' obvious but we have known that the three-year agreement expired this summer ever since it was signed. If supporters wanted to air their views what stopped them speaking to Roy and Bernard directly over the previous weeks or putting their concerns in writing about certain options that may exist?

As Gary has pointed out, the Trust members are protected better in that they elect people to represent them. The Club on this occasion have consulted the Trust and that's good. I'm happy that the board have represented my views and other trust members also. Let us also not forget that they are all committed Rebels fans also.

As a Trust member, SR, did you give your views to the Trust so they could pass them on? Did you approach Roy or Bernard directly about your views on where we should go? If not, then you have nobody to blame other than yourself. If you aren't confident that the Trust Board are sufficiently competent to represent your views then stand for election yourself.

It seems, as ever, that people are happy to moan but do little to affect the situation themselves. Put simply, it's a case of put up or shut up.

I thought 14 days notice was required, or is that for an EGM? Either way, if it had been done on Tuesday, what would happen if no decision could be made? The club then get blamed for leaving it until the last minute, as ASBO was on here earlier moaning about, and they are in a lose-lose situation.

It's all fair and well having concerns about how the Trust and club are doing things, but at least try to be constructive, rather than destructive, with your criticism Clive. You're smart enough to help out and have good contacts into businesses which could help out both parties.

It was only this morning that Asbo was moaning that it should all be sorted out by now.

I saw a talk a few years ago by Frank Dick OBE, the GB athletics coach. He referred to valley people and mountain people. Valley people are those happy to stand at the bottom and criticise whilst the mountain people are those that get off their ar$e and do something. If you ever get a chance to listen to him, I'd recommend it. He's brilliant.

We have a lot of valley people as Slough supporters.

Whilst I can appreciate where you're coming from SR, you say that you've no faith in the trust, so are resigning from your membership, fair enough, but then in the same post talk about how the club hasn't communicated to you, but you're continuing to support it? What's the difference?

At least with the current club administration they are more forward in coming out with information when it matters and I'd like to thank the clubs chairman for calling me early this evening to pass on the news so that it could be released through the Official Site. Let's hope there's a lot more of this.

Staines Rebel1 said:I hope the club can learn from yet another round of poor communication - if I communicated to my customers in this way I would be out of business!

And you'd also have no customers if you acted with them in quite such a petty way. Sorry, Clive, there's lots you could have done to get your views across and you have chosen not to. If you felt so strongly, as you clearly do, why didn't YOU take the initiative to tell them?

No I wasn't. Did I need to be? No. All I ask for, from my position with the website, is the factual information to be released through the site once it's all agreed. That was completed, so I'm happy. As has been discussed elsewhere, the club have acted well in all of this to get the best deal for the club. As long as the supporters are made aware of what has happened and why, that's all I ask for. If I have issue with it, I would address that with Bernard, Roy and/or the Trust either at a match, email or on the phone.
