Justin Skinner

sounds like an good signing if true, got this about him from G&N site:

Justin Skinner (1998, 2001-2006)

A former Wimbledon player who made his debut at Anfield against Liverpool, Justin Skinner was one of the Fleet's most reliable and popular players of the early 21st century. At Wimbledon, he struggled to make the grade despite his top-flight debut and was loaned out to Bournemouth and Wycombe, making around 30 league appearances.

First joined the Fleet in the summer of 1998 from Aylesbury United, slotting straight into the team at left-back and enjoying an almost unbroken run for four months. Dropped out of the game for a period following his last game for the Fleet that season in November 1998, but rejoined the club at the beginning of the 2001-02 season. In his second spell at the club, he proved to be one of the most consistent members of the Ryman League championship-winning side of 2002, and indeed along with Jimmy Jackson and Steve McKimm was all that remained of it four years later.

Players' player of the year in 2004-05, Skinner adapted well to life in the Conference, adding to his goal tally as the team's penalty taker... although was prone to the odd red card or two!

In his final and testimonial season, he should probably have featured more than he did, but missed much of the latter half of the season as Liam Daish experimented with younger players, and after a final swansong against a WImbledon XI for his testimonial, he was released in May 2006 after six years of fantastic service.

Total Apps: 174 (+6)

Total Goals: 8

So its going to be Essex & Gravesend FC next season playing home games at HP?

Believe me I am not complaining(unusual for me I know).l.o.l.

If this latest aquisition is true then this excitement building up inside of me has now increased many fold.(& before anyone asks its not just because its a full back signing on either).

If this is true this is great news. Why could ck not sign these sort of players. Dont get me wrong, I know how difficult things had been for him to sign players but how come RT's managing to bring them in and he's only a manager starting his career, ck's been around for years and very experienced. Rt has certainly injected that much needed fresh air into the club. Lets hope he gets his new ground too as I expect that has major pulling power when attracting new players.

Because when CK was your manager, for most of the time we had Andy Ford, top man.

Now we have a manager whose only aim is to burst the ball in the direction of the opposite goal, play a 4-5-1 formation, alienate the fans from the club, hates part timers to the extent that he got rid of splendid conference standard players such as Jackson, McKimm, Drury,Saunders and Protheroe.

Even if Tony Blair was your manager, he would have no difficulty in obtaining these players signature.

Well said and thank you Chtham Gary.

Not only that of course but for the last couple of seasons we weren't even sure if we had a club.

It is totally unfair to compare today's situation with that of the previous seasons.

CK did a great job for us, got us to where we could only have dreamt before he got here and let's appreciate that, stop making comparisons.

Don't compare RT with CK - let RT get on with his job.

By the way, my post was not meant as a criticism of the Gravesend Manager, merely agreeing with CG's point of view that the players are more readily available now than they were.
