At last!! Some real news!! [No. 469]

While queuing in the newsagent this morning for this week's issue of "Extreme Sports", my eye was attracted to the back page of the St Albans Observer.

In addition to the much publicised signing of Josh 'Sozzo' Sozzo, topscorer and skipper at Hitchin Town last season, we have also "recalled Ricky Perks from a loan spell at Walton & Hersham" [as exclusively revealled by some eejit on here earlier in the week - not the 'loan spell' bit, the signing bit].

Colin has also landed [it said] winger Adam Wild who has been recruited to supply the ammunition [it said - where do they get this stuff?] for the likes of Sozzo, Lee Clarke, Simon Martin, Paul Hakim and Thierry Henry. [Not the last one - I made that up.] Adam has been at Weymouth, Worcester and Salisbury, apparently.

Andrew Ross will be given the pre-season to prove his worth, it said.

Gibbo is quoted elsewhere appealling to the good people of the City to lend a hand with a variety of painting jobs around the ground over the Summer period. The chap who used to drive the red tractor is co-ordinating the Summer's ground improvements.

"We are already in talks about a new stadium and hope to make real progress over the next year or so. But in the meantime we want to make Clarence Park as good as we can", said the Clarence Park supremo. [i made that bit up about the 'Clarence Park supremo, too. I was just trying my hand at local journalism. The quote is accurate, however.]

Hi Rob.

I know as much about these things as you do - much less in actual fact - but my reading of the St Albans Observer:

"The St Albans City boss has landed.....winger Adam Wild...

'Wild meanwhile, has been recruited to supply the ammunition for the likes of Sozzo, .... "He's a good player who will provide us with the good width" said Lippiatt. "He's been at Weymouth, Worcetser and Salisbury before so he's got good experience."

..suggests to me that he's "in" rather than 'possibly on the way in'.

Bring it on!
