Looking Forward

What I think is so exciting about the way the squad is taking shape is that by signing players so early we are getting players who actually want to play for us. Too often in the past players have come to us in September, or later, when they only see us as a last resort and sometimes aren't committed to the cause. I get the feeling RT & Co won't tolerate any passengers.

I almost wish we could forget the World Cup and start the season next week.

I'd love to see Keister in an a more attacking role. He was getting forward much more at the end of the season and has played up front - for us amongst others - in the past. But I would think a recognised striker would be on RT's shopping list.

I think that Keister may well be a more reserve player this season, & concentrate on coaching more.

With McKimm, Abbott, Protheroe & Brayley midfield is looking strong, having JK as a back up makes it very tasty.

We desperately need another good striker & another Goalie, plus a utility Defender would be helpful.

I'm not certain if we are 'desperate' ,as their remain 12 weeks to go to kick off !!

Would be nice to get all the signings in by 1 July though i guess, so they can train properly together.

Agree we need a central defender, although arguably we already have Trott,Donovan,Deen and Keister who can play there, so there is a choice of 2 from 4.

Full back well covered with Oates,Standen,Protheroe, Abbo, and even Sesay.

Midfield-to Scrats list above you can add Deen,Standen,Gradley ,Sesay,so thats nine who can play in midfield.

Here we are in May, and who would think that we would be wondering whether Bertie may even make the team next season, although along with Abbo and Standen has the advantage of being able to play on the left .

Sorry MM wasnt forgetting other players, just speculating who will make the strongest Midfield.

Abbott - Protheroe - McKimm - Brayley

or he could choose

Protheroe - Mckimm - Keister - Abbott

with Brayley & Hockton up front?

But I get impression Brayley prefers to play on the wing. So as Sesay isnt a great striker we need a good striker to partner Hockton
