Pitch work has started at the club

hi all

To keep you all updated the work on the pitch has now begun. This is a major project being carried out with a computerised watering system being installed where by the pitch will always receive the exact amount of water needed either at day or night. It also means during the season the pitch can be watered prior to the game and also at half time if necessary and yes possibly during the game if we're two nil down! This is a massive investment by the club which we hope will provide us with a pitch which will be envy of many. Also the training pitch at the back is due to be started this week. Charlton Athletic's pitch is being dug up this week and is being transported to Stag Meadow to form the basis of the training pitch at the back. Again this will mean that training sessions and pre match warm ups can take place off the main pitch. So it's all systems go down there at the moment. I will be looking to start the working parties in June so will keep you all informed of the dates.

Thanks

Geggy

I read that Thames Water are more responsible than any other company for loss of water through leaks, so if they pulled their finger out, we might not need a ban. Hope it doesn't screw up your plans though, as it's something the pitch badly needs.

But surely if they pulled their fingers out, the leaks would get worse ??? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" />

We lost a few days ast week due to the weather but are basically back on track.

Seeding should be completed by the end of the week.

The new training area is being cleared and should also be completed by the start of the season.

most irrigation pipe systems are under soil to prevent players tripping or the other way is to rely on Gods watering system called rain. How else would you expect it to be watered with overhead sprinkler pipework.

What did you study at Pompey Uni

what is the latest on the new pitch and training ground? Are you allowed to sprinkler it in this very dry spell, some local pitches are parched, even the WBS training area has not much grass left.

The pitch is coming on as well as can be expected with the type of weather we haqve be having.

The sprinkler systems is almost ready to be turned on so atthe moment we are having to rely on someone watering through the night.

The work on the training area will continue once the oitch is in a condition where nothing else can be done apart from watching the grass grow.

Tom, please see my previous post as nothing has really changed.

The article in the Express exagerated the issue with the lack of grass on the pitch.

SR1, these posts, as with the majority of the posts on the Slough forum, are posted on behalf of club officials to inform the fans of what is going on.

As with most plans things don't always happen the way we would like them to due to many contributing factors.

I suggest that if you have a complaint about any of Windsor & Eton FC's ground facilities that you direct them to the the Chairman and not me.
