AFF
A small point of order, CZ. Nowhere on this thread, or anywhere else, have I said that I believe the prices to be too high. I have expressed my concern generally, and my hope that Gibbo and the board have got it right. The price of admission is what it is. If it reaches a level which I am not prepared to pay, then I wont go. Come. You know what I mean. The question of admission prices was discussed in some detail at the Supporters Club AGM. I was bored then and I'm bored now.
Electric ~soul~
Me too. Perhaps Laz can close the thread, eh? P.S. Apologies for the mis-quote.
Laz
Okay. PM me if anyone wants it re-opened.
AFF
Whoa, CZ. Just because I'm bored doesn't mean that I would deny the oxygen of publicity to those who have a view. The thread only started this morning. The second and third shifts from t'pit wont have seen it yet. They only get 12/6 per week so let's give them the opportunity to comment. Laz
By popular demand... Perhaps we could have a vote on whether to lock the thread or not?
AFF
WHAAAAAT? This is an open forum. This thread started earlier today, and it cooncerns admission prices for next season. Those what are bored don't have to read it, or visit it, surely. Don't get me started about freedom of speech.
JKiF
i think the match day admission is fair enough I, like Hatboy, am more concerned with the paltry offer of a psf thrown in for STH.
Electric ~soul~
Well, to be fair, you are getting £2 per game discount as well.
JKiF
wasnt it 2.50£ last year? cant see the incentive, but there you go
Electric ~soul~
Quote: wasnt it 2.50£ last year? Really? If this is the case, then it's a poor showing. Though, to be fair, I think the season ticket represents fairly good value. I said a couple of days ago that I'd be tempted to buy one, if there's a reasonable discount on it, and 17% off is not bad, considering.
JKiF
well its worked for you ;-) hope the commercial managers on commission.
Davymac55
I thought that money in the bank was better than the promise of some in the future. The season ticket price is a [****!!****] joke, the same as last season. One friendly included ? Encourage people to come and support. Ok so 12 squid a game aint too bad but if you are prepared to up-front it for a whole season give us a chance.
Zagreus
230 for 23 games = 10 quid a game. Usual price is 12 quid, so we save 2 quid a game = a saving of 46 quid over the season. Sounds good to me, or am I just too easily pleased? Of course, if we do get get to play a "big" team in a cup game, I would expect season ticket holders to get first dibs on buying a ticket for said game. Rob_the_Saint
Not many people see every home game though. If you only see 20, say, that's £11.50 a game, a saving of only £11.50 over the season. Of course you haven't the hassle of worrying about having enough cash on you each game and whether you've still got the entry ticket when you go for a half-time pint. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
AFF
Eh! Where I come from £11.50 is £11.50, Rob. That's a week's wages down t'pit. Providing you're not sick or on holiday. Over the past couple of years, if my maths is correct, any season-ticket holder who missed one League game and all the pre-season friendlies, and with no cup runs, lost money, so we're making progress. Zagreus
Yes, it's the same with any season ticket from any club. There will be a point where, if you miss games, then you are paying more to watch a game than if you just paid for an individual game at the gate. This is not a new thing! AFF
Precisely, Zag. Well spotted. The point that I was making was that over the past few seasons, the £200 season ticket, in strict economic terms, was not terribly appealling. Those of us [there's a hint right there] that purchased them either have yeller & blue blood in our [in case you missed it, there's another] veins or needed our heads tested. Miss three games and still finish ahead of the game? Buy now before they sell out would be my suggestion.
JKiF
hopefully last post from me...its not about the money for me, its about giving back something to those who went when it wasnt so good and stood by them...1 free PSF is an insult. (if you are talking about the money aspect be aware then that watfords' ST will be 330£ next season)
Zagreus
Well, I've always gone because I WANTED to, not out of some kind of duty - so I don't expect anything back really. I understand that clubs have these loyality schemes to encourage people to renew early etc, so I suppose one PSF doesn't seem that attractive.
