WALSHE

Recommended Posts

Are you saying, walshe could not compete at conference, because hes not good enough, or its just his fitness. When he first arrived we were bottom,in two seasons with us hes done more then enough for the club.and should of been given pre season to show his fitness. FLYNN did a good job,but i think Cousins and walshe would of excelled in conference. i think there is more to it about his release, its not sentiment, but i also think the team that got you promotion should be given pr season. football wise hes well good enogh.

Agree frankie. I'm not for one minute doubting his footballing ability in the Conference South. He's just simply too unfit, hence "there was no way he could have handled a step up."

I don't know, perhaps he could have proved us all wrong and gone on an intensive diet for 8 weeks...I doubt that, however. Even if he did start to a little bit of weight, I fear the pace of the Conference may just be too much. He's had many chances to become fitter since he has returned, maybe LL has seen it as one chance to many.

I don't think anyone is doubting Ben's ability. His left foot is one of the sweetest you will ever see. If he was in the peak of condition, IMO, he would be playing league football. The trouble is that it isn't just about ability, it is also about application. Maybe there is a medical reason why he has had trouble achieving full fitness over the five months he has been back,I don't know but what I do know, is that something clearly is not right. In light of this, I don't think LL really had a choice, if we are at all serious in our intentions to cut it in the Conference.

Good luck for the future, Ben, from me.

a couple of things on this...and I don't want this to turn into a Ben Walshe slanging match as he's a nice guy and a decent player.

If we are to take the conference seriously we can't afford to be saying `lets give these playes pre-season games' because we `like them'. With the restricted transfer window it's not a luxury we can afford.

Lets' also not forget that Ben left St.Albans for what was reported at the time for more money..if anything CL gave him a second chance when bringing him back.

IMO we should draw a line under this and say Good luck Ben and anyone else who is released, and thankyou for helping St.Albans achieve what seemed the impossible.

i agree rob with your first and last point. however i do not agree about the pre season, because we like them bit. if you have a quality player, you do your best to keep them.[ie maybe try and find out if there is something wrong] of course CL might of done that.the bit i dont like is [reported left st albans for more money] unless you know for sure. rumours should not be posted. enough said about ben except to wish him luck. roll on the new season.

Lord Lippy knows best, I don't see the point of arguing a toss about whether he should or shouldn't be playing in the conference.

If it wasn't for Colin we would never have got there.
