Can anyone tell me why unused substitutes kick a ball around at half time on the pitch when the two teams go into the changing rooms during the break? I would have thought that they would be needed in the changing room to listen to what is being said, especially regarding tactics, should they be needed straight after the break.

Perhaps there aren't any tactics, instructions etc; just half an orange, which substitutes won't have earned spending forty five or so minutes sitting down!

Did he not say sensible sugestions?! Last season at one of the away grounds, as you walk towards the bar you can hear Jim shouting at the boys, and Pete swearing at the boys!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" />

That reminds me of a game at St. Albans when EFC were managed by Graham Roberts. As we changed ends behind the stand you could hear Graham giving his half time team talk at the top of is voice. Fifteen minutes of non stop swearing. Absolutley no useful football related content whatsoever!

answer coming from experienced sub her <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

you need to loosten up so you are prepared if called upon. the manager will fill you in on any tactics should he require you.

as a sub if the team playing sh*t you dont wana have to listen to the rest of the lads getting a bollocking and you certainly dont wan hear how well they are doing if they are winning.
