YIGA!

Don't understand why the hell we have got rid of him.

It must have been because he was too entertaining. Getting that seven match ban, in my eyes made him a legend, and i was ready and willing to pledge my 100 pounds player sponsorship for next year, so I hope he does end up staying, remember its a retained list, not a released list, and I hope he gets the chance to prove everyone wrong.

A good solid player in a team now, without knight, protheroe, yiga, looking very few on creative ideas.

As I have already said I am glad he is not retained. Not good enough at the moment for us. He seemed to be ok under CK but as a team we are much stronger with Trotty. Yiga doesnt fit into the style of play. Good decision not to keep him having seen him struggle in all the games he played under RT. I know that an improved offer had to be made to keep hold of Lawrence so sure that money can be better used elsewhere.

What's the point of having a contract then? It depends what it says on the contract and as none of us know what it says then it is difficult to comment. If it can only be terminated by mutual consent that is what it means i.e if the club wants to terminate it then presumably the club will have to buy it back. If the player wants to terminate it then he will have to make some sort of similar arrangement.

The whole poinbt of having a contract is that both sides are protected and one cannot get out of it without the agreement of the other unless it says so on the contract. If it does say that then either side would have slipped up badly to allow that to happen

Didn't make my point quite clear there: if the contract can be terminated by mutual consent that is what it means but it does mean that it will have to be by mutual consent, in other wortds both parties will have to agree. So there would have to be some negotiation. Otherwise if either party wants out but the other doesn't then someone is going to have to pay.

The whole point of having a contract is to protect both sides surely?

The official website said:

"Laurence has now agreed terms to sign a contract which will keep him at the Club until the end of the 06/07 Season."

Does that mean he had actually signed a contract or that he had just agreed to sign a contract? Sad to see him go as, though very raw, he clearly had potential.

In todays Thanet Times it says that "Yiga remains contracted to the club,he has gone on the transfer list at his own request."

Well I think that sums up the reason why he is not an the retained list. Also his (or his agents) tactics after the Chelmsford match can have only made the decision easier for RT.

I don't want players who do not want to play for the club either.
