whats happening with Boylan?

what is happening with Boylan, im assuming we will get a fairly hefty sum for him and i cant imagine there being a shortage of clubs after him.

also Sedgemore, wardy hinted in his notes on the last day of the season that we might stand a chance of keeping him. oh that would be good!

I have heard from a good source that Stevenage & G&N have made contact with Jeff about Boylan..

Sedge will probably end up with Chelmsford along with Wardy..

Wardy might of stayed if he knew we were going to be in the same league as Chelmsford although i doubt we could of paid his wages.

There is no way Sedgemore should end up at Chelmsford. Even if he gets some help from his Brother, he can stay in the Conference. Certainly too good for our level of football.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Duffy and Minton at Chelmsford though, being Jeff's favourites and all.

There are conflicting reports about Boylan and the other contracted players. I would've thought their contracts would've been broken leaving them free to join another Club after giving Jeff/us the 14 days required notice? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

It would seem logical. It looks likely to be the same as what happened with Daryl Clare at Crawley. His contract was broken, he gave Crawley 14 days notice, once those 14 days were up he joined Burton Albion for free.

sedge wanted to go into coaching, so with the right insentives im sure we could keep him,

it seems a bit silly that the club would allow contracted players to go without a fee. surely if we had tryed to sell them before we dropped leagues we would have atleast had some financial gain from it

like i have sais before we would not get any cash from a Boylan transfer as he is under contract to Jeff..

To be honest i think Jeff will let him go on a free otherwise he has to pay anoth years salary (50k)

Does the transfer window in the Conference apply for players departing as well as arriving?

You never know, the reason Dolan & Tait weren't playing might've been cause they had already been sold onto other Clubs but obviously couldn't join them yet cause of the window. Who knows!

surely players are on contract to the club and not the owner, and as far as sedge goes maybe the idea of being in a part time team learning the management ropes would be enough for people to drop their wage bill. it is only a hopfull idea. lots of our players have money coming in from other sorces and might be interested in using canvey to further other footballing asperations in other ways. as it said in wardys coloum about sedge, anything is possible

Had it been that high, I think the Club would've accepted the bid.

I find that very hard to believe, if it was true they would surely sign him now instead of letting him join another Conference club.
