I always think with polls like this, albums from say the last two years should not be eligible. That way you'd get a more accurate idea of classic albums, rather than what's currently in people's minds.

Would Nevermind gone top had the Greatest Hits album not come out this year?

Nevermind came third in the last poll with Revolver at 2 and Ok Computer at 1. Screamadelica, Stone Roses, Morning Glory and Urban Hymns were all Top 10 too.

 

I do like Radiohead, but questions need to be asked when they have supposedly made two of the best four albums of all time. That I dispute.

Ok Perhaps The Bends was a tad too high, should be top 10, Ziggy Stardust should have been higher, Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here' should have made it.

 

Whilst I like Coldplay a great deal, I don't think either of them will stay in that chart over time. Strokes are a bit too high at 9 too.

 

I hate to say it, whilst I'm going off the Stereophonics, 'Word Gets Around' is still a great album, not sure if warrants being in the top 100 though..

I was shocked that neither "Performance & Cocktails" nor "The Man Who" were in there. Not that I think they necessarily ought to be, but they were bloody popular.

Free All bloomin Angels? How can that beat 1977? 1977, the original, quality album from Ash (who were around 16 / 17 at the time), compared to Free All Angels, an album geared at the Top of the Pops, sing-along market.
