Q Magazine Top 100 Albums of All Time

Recommended Posts

Sorry I've been away, had serious modem issues at home, I am falling out of love with Dell very quickly (the pc manufacturer not enigmatic keeper Delroy Preddie)

Anyhow, back tot he subject matter, of course OK Computer should be in there, it was one place too low IMHO. I love Nevermind but I think RH's effort is probably the most impressive album I've ever heard, hence being number 1.

Ok.. from memory...

Oasis - Def Maybe (8)

Oasis - Morning Glory (18)

Radiohead - Bends (4)

Eminem - Marshall Mathers (5)

Nirvana - In Utero (11)

Err... Choke by the Beautiful South didn't make it.

Neither did Abbey Road which has surprised me a lot. Should be in the Top 10, never mind the Top 100.

No Carter, Mr Thorns.

You don't have the Sex pistols CZ!!!!

A few questions and observations:

Will the Strokes be number 9 in 5 years?

The Verve (39) was probably in the Top 5 in the last poll

What the hell are Pearl Jam doing there (42)

Wrong Massive Attack album (56)

Alicia Keys, Vines, Linkin Park, DJ Shadow, Ryan adams piss off!

CZ you need to get Doolittle by the Pixies.

I only have 20 of them albums

I have 8, 22, 41, 43, 45, 48, 53, 58, 63, 68, 72, 74, 80 and 83.

Unfortunately, I stepped on my copy of 58 in a drug crazed stupor and it doesn't play anymore. I really should bung it in the bin. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/bounceblue.gif" alt="" />

Couldn't believe that in the last one I had 60-odd and now I only have 33.

I remember in the '97 poll, "Be Here Now" came higher than "Def Maybe"!!

"Abbey Road" was Top 10 in the last poll, nowhere to be seen now!! An album that's 33 years old does not lose that much popularity between it's 28th and 33rd year of release!!

You're correct about The Verve, and Alicia, DJ Shadow etc.

I refuse to believe that the fact I have only 33 of the Top 100 means I'm losing touch in music.
