how many teams will go up from ESL next season. what information have people got. i heard that there will be around 20 teams next season. we have inherited capton but lost afc hornchurch, tilbury and w.abbey. that leaves us with only 14 teams.

i have no idea. i expected a few more ryman 2 teams. but a lot of them have gone into spartan and combined counties. maybe a few teams from those leagues will move sideways to us.

 

as for being vulnerable i would say unlikely as the league is a fairly good standard.

I can't see any clubs coming over to the ESL from Combined Counties because of their geographical positioning but I suppose that it is quite possible that some might come over from the Spartan South Midlands as a number of clubs from the old Ryman 2 have gone into the SSM.

 

But when will we know?

Got to lose a couple of Step 5 leagues to get it down to 12. If you only have 14 teams you may be in trouble.

this is what i saw a while ago as what our league will be.

 

i think hertford town were ryman 2 and there i assume have been allocated elsewhere.

 

SBU are in kent league

 

the others i guess are spartan south midlands and possible candidates if a lot of teams have been placed into that league.

No offence, and be honest, its by far one of the weakest leagues at this level. When we played Soham and Cogenoe they were a different class compared to you lot yet they finished mid table!
