Meeting 11/05/2006

Recommended Posts

We had our weekly meeting last night to discuss all the issues after yesterday's events. As a result, an Official Press Statement is being written which should appear in Monday's Echo, as well as other in other media publications/websites/radio stations etc.

Therefore, I won't go into details here as it seems only right that we follow the correct procedures to announce this information.

Remember there is an open meeting next Thursday (18th May) to organise working parties (honestly, we promise this time!)

I'm sure after everyone reads the statement that Thursday's meeting will be an EXTREMELY positive and constructive one!

Yes, was only kidding at this time.

Still think that in future if the club wants to progress back to conf level and perhaps beyond would need that stadium. Current ground is just upgraded ESL.

Think the Island as a whole deserves a place with good facilities and . What else have we got?

I'm sure there's a lot of personal "politics" that go on with the council - a lot of back scratching and resentment.

If the club is ultimately sustained and "run" by the supporters who are residents of Castle Point and Jeff is no way involved it may put is in a stronger light. Make a stronger case for youth football playing at Waterside - clubs currently play at various locations on the Island - condense that to better facilities at Waterside - plus all weather pitches etc. - just not the dreaded running track inside the ground! Sorry if my dreams are going off at a tangent <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />we just have to continue to believe it will be possible one day!

Obviously a backer is good but various grants will always be required. TBH I don't know how much a new ground would cost to build - would be good to find out how much the proposed one would have been so we know what we are aiming for.

I may be wrong but aren't we the fans supposed to be the biggest investor in the club - money raised over a period of time was to be used as an investment not thrown into the club to keep it going - or has all this changed due to The Limited Company?
