As usual a normal coonversation about comings and goings at the club and who we think should be captain has been turned into some a little more sinister by some comments, particully by jc, why can't we have an opinion that differs from the 'party line', we don't live in the USSR yet.

Eh? I wasn't saying whether McCarthy should be captain or not. I was merely pointing out a factual error on your part.

MaCarthy has shown a lack of discipline on a number of occasions, it's a fact not the raving of a certifiable mad man.

If it's a fact, name those occasions.

Possibly the best example of paranoia ever seen on this forum. And that's some compliment because you - if we abuse Daish we're right on, but if you produce a counter argument you're the thought police - boys set high standards.

What are you on?

Can I have some?

Ermm……No I haven't been registered as anyone else before. I've recently been able to access the interweb on a more regular basis at my place of work and have therefore been able to join in these 'debates'. I've been watching the Fleet regularly since the late 70's when my Dad would take me to home games on the bus. Even when I married and moved to Essex I still travelled to see as many home games as I could, now I've moved back to Kent I'm now able to see every home game, and bring along my own son, friendlies and testimonial's included. In mentioning McCarthy's lack of discipline my point was as club captain he would have been able to play more than 33 games all season (30 League, 2 FAT & 1 KSC) if he hadn't received 5 yellow and 2 red cards. With the amount of injuries the squad has suffered having our captain available would, anyone would agree surely, have been better for the club. It was never my intention to upset anyone but if I have there isn't anything I can do so. I support the Fleet above all others, I'm not one of these home supporters who turn up with the lastest Chelsea or Arsenal shirt, if I was to put a shirt on over my beer belly it would be the red of the Fleet. I rememer once apologising on the official forum and how again on this, a win double.

Fair enough. Accept my apologies for the rather combative nature of my post. I was a bit scratchy at the time, having just witnessed what I believed to be the better team lose in the cup final (though, like you, if I were into replica shirts, which I privately think gents of my years are too old for, it could only be a Fleet one.)

Think you're absolutely wrong to see control freak tendencies in JC though. He's a level-headed & articuate contributer. Neither he nor I would want to dissuade new people from posting. It gets bloody boring on here sometimes with the same people rehearsing the same arguments.

Welcome to the forum.

PS Can't actually remember PM's other red, although I have dim recollections of a "professional" foul at an away match? I loved Skins as much as the next man, but I always saw him as a much greater liability than Paul.

Yes, he hauled down Fola Onibuje when he was clean through on goal at Cambridge United. Not strictly an example of 'indiscipline'. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
