Whilst without doubt it will be a sad day if Jackson was to leave. He did however leave just a season or two ago, when he joined Dagenham & Redbridge.

The fact is that he is not getting any younger and that combining his football, at this level, with what must be a very tiring day job may prove to be too much for even just one more season?

Perhaps the time may just have come for him to 'move-on' and for all 'Fleet fans to say a very big thank you to Jacko for his commitment and effort over the years.

I think you know, as well as anyone else, that that is complete rubbish WVN. His constistently excellent performances and tireless displays this season suggest that, far from being on his last legs, he is ready for 2 maybe 3 more seasons at this level. If it is the 'requirement' of an extra training session that forces this Fleet legend out, it will be a dark day for our club.

He should be a fixture here for at least another 2 years because,

a) He never gives less than 150%

B) he inspires the youngsters around him.

c) he has a never say die attitude, when heads around him are dropping

d) he recovers quicker from serious injuries than any other player in the Conference.

e) He is a lifelong Fleet fan.

At the end of the day it should all come down to whether he's good enough and not just that he's a Fleet lad through and through and to be honest on his performances last season he is and remains good enough. JJ should stay and not just for romamtic reasons, with a number of players leaving we need someone at the club who remembers and understands our history and wants to wear the shirt with pride

I wonder when we will know about Jacko. I understand that he is more or less able to train as and when required to fit in with the players' training schedule and whether he went to another club for a short time is irrelevant as the fact is when he came back to us I felt he was more inspired than when he left us. It is not just sentiment, I defy anyone to say that he looked past it last season and true his job is hard work, but healthy work and could well play a part in why he is still so fit. He would also make a good captain I.M.O. as I am sure would any of the others mentioned above. I do think that as there is so much concern about whether he is staying or not we should be told very soon and, if he doesn't stay was it his wish to go? I doubt if money would be a prime concern with him.If the rumour re Margate is true he would have to weigh up the time spent travelling and the cost of petrol etc.

Indeed - no official mention of this from the club. A clarification either way would be welcome.

Like Vera, my understanding is that although Jacko is nominally part-time thanks to an understanding employer he rarely missed a training session last season.

The side shouldn't be picked on who the crowds favourites are and I certainly hope that LD doesn't waste his time reading the rubbish that we all post on this site, the reason Jacko should be kept is that he is one of our better players.

As WVN said if he does leave he deserves a massive vote of thanks from all Fleet supporters but quite frankly after the pathetic turnout for Skins testimonial I doubt that Jacko would get it.

At the same time, I would hope that the team is not picked to favour those who are full time rather than those who are part time. Surely the point of not going fully full time is that we could have the best of both worlds?

Who better than Jacko? Not just the gamplay that he has, but the experience he brings and the way he seems to be able to gel a team together when times are bad.

I say if you have 2 or more players that we KNOW are better than Jacko, then let him go. If not. You move heaven and earth to get him to stay. We can't let that kind of quality walk away for free
