Tamworth saved, Canvey withdraw

Recommended Posts

I agree it would be nice to be positive on here, but ,yes always a but, the club has given joe public nothing but bad vibes. Also with the way club statements read in the local press, there is nothing positive there either.

To be fair the club has not put up any smoke screens and said all is well.

There again I believe that the act of being silent,or is it a wall of silence, semms to show we are in trouble.

Yes a negative post!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give me something positive from the club other than the seating area. ( not positive to all)and I am all yours.

We are in financial trouble because we don't have enough supporters. It is easy to blame performances on the pitch but the truth is good supporters will turn up through thick and thin as evidenced by the likes of Manchester City when they were in the third division, Hull City, Wolves and AFC Wimbledon.

We are playing at the highest level we have ever played at and even when we managed to put together a nineteen match unbeaten run we still couldn't attract enough fans to support full-time football.

That cannot be argued with.

Which is another major contributing factor to why we are now, where we are.

From Isthmian Division 1 to Nationwide Conference, our average attendance has only increased by about 400 max.

If the people of Gravesend etc. aren't coming through your gates, chances are the majority aren't going through anyone elses either. Do not just sit there and rely on your Board to suddenly come up with a great marketing scheme to attract new supporters cause chances are it won't happen.

What it needs is your hardcore supporters that will follow the Club, (not the players or the management or the Board - they come and go) but those that will follow the name Gravesend & Northfleet no matter where in the pyramid they play to really pull out the stops and every individual to do their bit for their Club.

I know it's easy to say all this, but every little does truly help. Even if it's just a march through the town before a game to raise awareness like we at Canvey have done. We're starting a brand new and exciting era at our Club, we're all backing it 100%, I can't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to promote your Club for the new season in much the same way.

I admit from the outside it does look rather doom and gloom at the moment, but you'll never know what you have until one day it's gone for good, (or almost). You don't want that to happen, so perhaps you should start to spread the word about yourselves.

A lot of these statements on here are true, but sometimes you have to face facts.our form after christmas was dismal. The weather changed and we all started freezing.

It seemed to me the colder it got the less we had to cheer.

The less we had to cheer the smaller the crowds got.The ones that were left stood freezing on the sidelines watching our displays get worse and worse.

The weather then seemed to get even colder.

We were then treated, to look skywards, the ball so high it was coming down, with even more ice on it that a waiters ice bucket.

Week after week, handing our hard earned money over the turnstyle.

Week after week drawn back by some unknown force, optimism, or some blind faith.

I must admit things started to get better.

Not on the pitch mind you, it just was not so dam cold.

Like most genuine football supporter. I hope that someone or something comes along to help our club with a life long commitment.

Moving on to better things.

I believe like most major towns,G&NF FC can play a large part in revitalising our town. Here it comes, first the the club needs to attract punters through the Gates.

The club has to look like it is moving forward.

Rather than the way its ignoring its hard core supporters at the moment, as I mentioned in another post

all we get is a wall of silence. Nothing positive.

We have as true supporters have to ask why no statements to it,s hard core support?? WHY THE WALL OF SILENCE???
