Canvey squad released

Who do you think Trotty will be interested in from the Canvey squad? According to Jeff King only a couple have contacted him since he has gone to Chelmsford so that leaves several that will be looking for other clubs.

Is it realistic to think that with Bertie already here and maybe Proths too that some of them could be tempted here? Wouldnt mind seeing Boylan come here although he has said he wants to join a top Conference side. Thing is though there are rumours that he wants to stay part time. Not many clubs with ambition that are still part time other than ourselves, Chelmsford and AFC Wimbledon. The Trott and Brayley factor could help us with this one. One thing is for sure though and that is that if Boylan came here we would win the title.

I think if Boylan were to drop this far down the pyramid, it would go against everything he has said about the reasons he put in for a transfer request, (before our financial trouble came out).

He wishes to join a League Club before he's too old to have the oppertunity taken away from him. Failing that he would remain in the Conference to challenge for a League place. I would love to see him in the League, I think he thoroughly deserves it but should he not make it for whatever reason, I can't see him dropping any lower than the Conference.

His proneness to injury is the only thing I believe would hold him back.

During the season we won the Ryman Premier, Nottingham Forest put in a bid for him believed to be around 50k, (could've been as high as 80k actually). The following two seasons, he's broken his leg, knocked himself out from a goalpost and has also got to contend with his Crohn's disease.

It would be a great shame for him not to make it, especially after we gave him the chance to get his career back on track after a serious injury playing abroad.
