Terry Beck

Hi all, what was Terry Beck like as a Player, i think he done the rounds at local non League Clubs.

 

Was he any good?

He was class at the back for romford with dave spittle and plank in front of him didnt seem to like the ball though <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Played with him in 2000 at Barking good player, solid, likes a laugh and a joke and a beer. lol top bloke

Played with Terry & Dave Spittle at Basildon Utd in 1990 (I think). A good player & and a great laugh in the changing room and bar

Terry can still be found in the bar at Rush Green most saturdays, normally dressed as ever in shorts and sandals.

 

Top bloke who has played for almost every local team you can think of including: Rainham Town, Barking, Collier Row, Romford, Collier Row and Romford (what a great season!!), Ford Utd etc etc

 

Many great moments in his career, too many to mention here, but the best two were probably:

 

FA Cup appearance for Ford United away at Preston North End in front of over 10,000. He took it so seriously that he put himself away to bed in the hotel the night before. It was the first time since he the age of 12 that he had been in bed by ten o'clock on a Friday night.

 

The second was the decisive penalty miss in a cup final at Boreham Wood for Collier Row against Met Police (he did not miss many). The rest of the Row players in no way blamed him, but a week later were all seen in the cubhouse at Sungate wearing Calsberg style t-shirts proclaiming "Terry Beck - Probably the worst penalty taker in the world".
