England Squad

Well we've all seen it and all have our opinions so what do we all think?

I'm an Arsenal fan but thats not whats influenced my opinions!

I can't wait to get rid of Sven because no matter what he does I think he is poor!

Firstly the provisional players are a joke! Johnson, Coker and Young??? Where are Wright Phillips, Brown, Bent???

James is crap and Carson should have gone. Jesus wouldn't cure Rooney in time so why take him? If we get as far as the semi final or final are you going to drop the players who got us there and play someone who is unfit? And with Owen not fit relying on Crouch and Walcott is suicidal. However Walcott is class and although inexperienced could prove people wrong. I know most people can't believe it but I actually think it could prove to be a cunning move. I think he could shine but before he was named I wouldn't even have considered him but looking at it I think it may work. I've seen him play for the reserves and he is a great player.

I would have taken Defoe and Wright phillips and not taken Hargreaves or Jenas. Jenas is so over-rated. Its just not good enough for England. Maybe Wes Brown should have gone over Sol in terms of fitness and form. Maybe Bent should go with the injuries to Rooney and Owen. But Im not a fan. Maybe Ashton instead? But one player who I rate who hasn't got a look in or even mentioned is Nolan. Why not take him instead of Hargreaves.

I'm glad Lennon and Downing have gone. Good choices. But why doesn't Sven learn. We have taken unfit players to the World Cup and it has back fired. Beckham was abysmal at the last World Cup and the muppet admitted after he shouldn't have played. Beckham is another who is over rated and shouldn't even be in the team let alone Captain. Terry should be. Beckham makes up for his obviuos decline by running around like a headless chicken. And some fans think thats good enough!

Anyway, although I think Sven's gone mad with his squad I must say that Walcott, although I wouldn't have picked him or didn't think he had a hope in hells chance of going, may be a sucess. Or it could be a huge mistake. But I think it could work.

All about opinions of course, but I, for one, think there are not enough so called Strikers. Unless of course Sven is going to play this 4 5 1 syndrome that a lot of Managers do, particularly in the World Cup.

Bent, for me, should have gone, so should Defoe. Hargreaves has done nothing at that level so why take him.

I know I'm biased but Matthew Etherington, if fit, would have given an option on the left and maybe Konchesky.

Walcott? obviously a great prospect, I saw him play for the Ashburton mob at the Boleyn and went off after 20 minutes, watched by Gripp, so I would put a question mark there.

Our strength is in Midfield, the Defence looks OK, but can we score?

Only time will tell.

I am a fan of Etherington but with a choice between him and Downing it has to be the latter.Downing final ball is far superior to Etherington.

We are obviously going to play one up front, unless Rooney plays.

My predicted line up for the first game is:

Robinson

Neville Ferdinand Terry Cole

Carrick

Beckham Gerrard Lampard Cole

Owen

how many times has anyone seen darren bent tear a top four side apart this season, all his goals have been against lesser opposition,he may of scored the odd one against the likes of chelsea or man utd but for me he looks a top class championship player, like andy johnson

defoe is proven but hasn't scored nearly enough goals this season

walcott is unproven whatever talent he has got,the fact is when rooney and owen are not fit we are not blessed with the worlds best strikers

brazil have ronaldinho, adriano, ronaldo, robinho to name four

bent and johnson are nowhere near the same class,at least walcott has the potential to be

bent scored all his goals at beginning of season. i wouldnt have taken him. i would have not taken hargreaves or jenas either.

i would have taken 5 strikers especially as 2/4 are struggling.

lets see how we do. its out of our hands now.

The striker situation worries me. People are saying he has taken a gamble but i do not think so. He will play one up and pack the midfield Sh1t scared of losing. None of these player we have are use to this. Theo has not even played in the prem and not even for the arsenal. Why did wenger not play him he has been there for four months. I am up for giving everyone a chance but this is a joke. I bet he does nothing or that he might not even go. Desperate try by sven to make an impact at the death.

wenger hasn't played him because he doesn't have to,he has henry, reyes and bergkamp in front of him as well as van persie and adebayor. He can blood him in next season,he has been on the bench a few times so it shows how much wenger thinks of him,it is a massive gamble but i trust wenger as i always have done and if he says walcott should go i would rather trust him than some of the ex players and pundits that are spouting off crap at the moment, england don't have the sort of players in front of walcott that arsenal have especially when rooney and owen aren't fit,if they both were i doubt very much whether he would of gone

He don't score goals and he don't create much, just a poor remake of Denilson in my eyes!!
I hope he comes good soon, cos i can see him ending up playing for Cadiz or Albacete in the near future!!!

he scored a blinder on saturday,he has only been there 7-8 months, the bloke is a real talent and i bet he comes good next season once he has got used to life in spain

Christopher Wreh = The new Ian Wright

that was one persons opinion, walcott was touted by anyone close to him that he was always going to be world class, think we should get behind the lad and see what he has to offer,is sven really that much of a numpty, seems we seem to forget the 5-1 drubbing in germany and the fact that we only lost to portugal in quater finals in euro 2004,don't think the bloke has done too much wrong apart from being a swede

baptista is sh1te,will admit that
robinho hasn't looked the best this season but pires and bergkamp didn't in their first season in the prem(henry didn't exactly shine!)
and look at them now
i watched a lot of brazilian football last couple of years and robinho was the outstanding talent, this boy will come good he has perfect balance and can turn a game in a second, madrid are poor this season anyway, put him in brazil side and watch him go
