Jermaine Jenas - Would prefer to take an extra striker. Ashton would be my choice. Jenas seems to have got stage fright when he has played for England in the past

Stewart Downing + Need a left footer in there as back up.

Surprised about Walcott being in. Yeah he is a good player but he has never played premiership football and it does surprise me that Bent or Defoe are behind. Walcott is definately one for the future but not this World Cup as he does not know what it is like at the big time.

Defoe a definate question mark??? Cant understand that one! Maybe he will be our lethal weapon, produced at the eleventh hour!

Defoe I dont think is for England. He doesnt get involved enough and cant find the space he likes at that level. Bent Im not sure is good enough for international level. Really this shows how much we lack an out and out goal poacher once you take Owen out of the equation.

Rooney won't kick a ball, Owen is 50/50 so our only attacking options are little and large, one a teenager who hasnt played premiership football! At this rate we will struggle to get through our group. Unbeleivable he hasn't named another striker. Will three 0-0's be enough to qualify for the next stage? You could of course consider that Joe Cole is potentially a striker in his wide position, in fact could handle the Rooney role and some.

Walcott? I'm sorry - I think this proves Eriksson has lost the plot. How old is he? 17? 18? 5 goals in 13 starts in the Championship - hardly good enough to warrant a World Cup place. How has Eriksson even seen him play? For Southampton? For Arsenal reserves? Either way, it is no-where near International Level. Granted, the kid is an exciting talent, and he will, I am certain, be one for the future. But, for now, to take him is a poor decision, in my opinion.

On the other hand, it's good to see Lennon in the squad!

Hargreaves and Campbell are the strangest ones for me, much better players in those positions in the prem. Campbell once a good player now a liability.
