Yes you have touched a nerve, you don't go around calling people twat's for no reason when i've done nothing but ever be nice to you in the past - plus as I said I only ever made that comment as Tounge-in-cheek remark.

I don't particually want to continue this discussion on this forum so I look forward to speaking you at the Polish club next Sunday if you are there...

Back on track my opinions....

Terry, ferdinand, both Coles and lennon had good tournaments

Robinson proved he can be David James in Disguise.

Sven has NO idea about football in any way shape or form.

Lampard was just appaling and if i was manager would not have played after the 2nd group match.

Rooney is a dickhead, who is so thick he cant work out what will happen b4 he dioes something.

Owen will never be a world class striker again.

Peter Crouch gave 100% but looked like a div 2 striker out of his depth.

Sven has been humping Theo Walcott's mum.

You look a tit if you bring someone on as a speicalist penalty taker- and they miss (This summed up Svens reign as manager in a nutshell for me)

Ronaldo is a disgusting cheating little [****!!****] with no morals of any sense, i know Liam will disagree and say he used it to his advantage and if he was English wed love him for it. NO It would be bad enough to do that to a virtual stranger but to do it to your team ate is sickening, If ronaldo ever comes back to Old Trafford, i see mr ferdinand and rooney having a field day on him.

Oh and Slough will go down as we have no players.

To be honest this world cup has been one to forget for many reasons.

1. A real lack of quality World Class football. I think we'd all be safe to say that week in and week out you'll get more entertaining matches in La Liga and the Premiership.

2. Lack of high quality goals. With the exception of Lahm's, Maxi's, Argentina team move and the Spain team goal very little has wowed me at this World Cup.

3. Brazil. Arguably one of the most pedestrian sides in the tournament. Whether due to Ronaldinho stating he wanted to play a more conservative role without the 'tricks' he's known for at Barca, I don't know. But with the exception of Kaka they looked a very ordinary side until they were about to be knocked out of the tournament by France. A distinct lack of Joga Bonito.

4. Argentina and Spain. For a long time they were the most exciting teams in the tournament and then got knocked out by sides they should have devoured in their early tournament form. Effectively now the best two teams are out of the tournament.

5. The teams who clawed their way through the group stages were as dull as dishwater. Out went teams who played like they actually cared if they stayed in the tournament (South Korea, Japan etc.) and we were left with the exciting and bombastic performance by Switzerland vs Ukraine.

6. The commentators. Mick McCarthy and Gareth Southgate are pretty small fish when you've got the likes of Pleat, Pearce and Motson stinking the joint out. Nearly every match devolved into a conversation about 1966 and what the commentator had for breakfast. When will Sky Sports get the rights to show the World Cup at the same time as the BBC/ITV??

7. England. With arguably their best chance in 40 years the amount of pressure put on the team by commentators/media. The thing I really couldn't stand though was the amount of times the in-studio panel would describe an England performance as great when everyone watching had clawed their eyeballs out in boredom and frustration.

8. Referees. This tournament has suffered from awful offside decisions, ludicrous yellow cards for time wasting and totally failed to deal with divers/players surrounding the referee. FIFA at the start said any certain diving would be a yellow card, but other than the very early group stages very few cards were dished out. In general there was a complete lack of control by referees. Either they were blowing up every thirty seconds, or in the hopes of getting the game to flow they'd let blatently dangerous challenges go unpunished and matches devolve into punch ups (Portugal match). Basically a total lack of control over the game and players. Also, if the offside rule is meant to benefit the attackers, why did all linesmen give the benefit to the defense?

The World Cup is meant to be an opportunity to showcase the game as it should be played. So basically we're saying diving to win penalties in time added on is fine, as is surrounding the referee and 90 minutes of defensive boredom? I really wish one referee had stuck his neck out and sent off a crowd of players for surrounding the ref as that at least would have been one good thing to come out of this World Cup.

To be honest the football hasn't been anything special for me, a few good games, and odd bit of skill, but just not enough entertainment for me. I think it's just confirmed to me that club football is where it's at. Englands loss didn't mean much to me, Arsenal getting beaten by Barca still hurts me and will till we win it

You can't keep blaming the manger and the the tactics all the time if the players are going into the game off form what chance do you have Lampard should of been dropped and Carrick picked with Hargreaves.

Had the team played from the start with 11 like they played with 10 we would of won allso the ball was not passed enough to Lennon who had there defence all over the place when he came on.

Rooney deservered what he got and we have another Gazza who's waiting to explode at any minute.

funny, but Ronaldo and Rooney were on opposite sides last night <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> and all this outrage about cheating and fouling is just covering up the fact that England were [****!!****], [****!!****], [****!!****] and more [****!!****] managed by someone whose tactics are geared towards the final Champions League spot in Serie A and not a knockout torunament while also throttling the way English play naturally. And as for Ferdinand and Rooney, they would have done the same thing given half the chance and unless England realise that they ain't going to win anything for a long time. It's all very nice being honest, but as the song says "nice guys finish last" (hell I know all about that one)

JT has to be the next skipper.

England should stick with what they know best which is 4-4-2. The fact that we went to a World Cup with four strikers two of whom were half fit was a disgrace. It was madness to play for penalties and we should have taken Lampard off in the second half and gone with two up front and had a go. Mclaren showed an attacking instinct with Boro in getting to the UEFA cup final and he showed do the same with allegedly higher quality players for England. Let's in future throw caution to the wind and try and win the bloody thing.
