Rooney is a genius on the pitch and a true world-class player, but one with a temper which needs calming. I guess we can only hope he learns a la Beckham vs Argentina in 1998.

 

For now, I don't think England were ever good enough to win the trophy anyway. Far too many flaws in squad selection and tactics, and players not raising their game to the occasion. Good individuals yes, but not enough cohesion.

how can he learn? Against Northern Ireland he lashed out, against Spain he was taken off because he was losing it, his sarcastic applause in the Champions League. He's had plenty of time to learn and he's ignoring it, but I just want to see people blame Ronaldo. I mean the tactics were crap, the squad selection was crap, several players didn't perform (and in some cases have never performed at international level) but it's the English way to find a scapegoat rather than facing up to the reality that they weren't up for the job.

yeah he should, then maybe we should start sending people off when their heads collide when jumping for a header. If you think that that was a sending off every game would be abandoned due to no players being on thepitch.

I've said it for months if not years now but Lampard is overrated. Gerrard IS NOT a genius, Beckham is not a winger, Sven is a total and utter fool, Rio is not as bad as a defender as people like to say he is but most of all...

True - it is the English way. The newspapers will have a field day. But I for one appreciate that things were wrong pretty much from the day Sven picked the squad. Then came the tactics, none of which really worked.

 

Rooney can learn - he will have to. But it didn't help that he was isolated up front on his own and that comes down to tactics again.

 

And I don't blame Ronaldo for England's downfall, but I don't think you can blame people for hating him after his play-acting and trying to persuade the referee to send Rooney off. I for one would pay good money to see Rooney or Red Nev deck him <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

He didn't. The ref had given the free kick and that was that until Rooney pushed him away and got his dumb retarded [****!!****] sent off..

We are all inititled to our opinions and i'm glad that Owen Hargreaves proved me wrong. He was without doubt our best player.

 

Also with the amount of crap you come out with at Slough games about our players, the trust and the club you are in no position to have a pop at me when you know [****!!****] all yourself.

I'm gutted because I had convinced myself over the last 48 hours that it was going to be an England Germany final. Not matter what happens now it will be a case of if only.

 

Much as I love Lampard, he has not really done it for England and I thought he should have been taken off when Rooney was sent off.

 

Interesting that the whole 4 striker thing has come up in a game where ended up with ten men. It did not matter because we were never going to go for it. Walcott must be thrilled though to be the water boy.

 

Hargreaves had a good game but it was interesting choice to pick him in the first place. If Carrick is worth 15 million does that make him worth 25?

i feel swen made mistakes and in the end did not play walcot on the books of arsonel. rooney is sadly becoming the new gasgoine and needs to be careful. it will be intresting when the eng and por meet up for training.

hi rodger how are you sad about england going out and the fact again we have to say goodbye to key players at slough but life goes on.

 

we don'nt seem to have any friendlys at windsor not evon one but will have some exciting places to go instead to build up to the start of the new season.
