But, finally lets celebrate

Only week in week out fans can know what you are going through but for those of us who have only followed the recent (years) glory trail lets celebrate the glorious highs.

For me I loved the manner in which CIFC played the game, very rare for a non-league side to commit with such emotion and blinding football to match the emotion.

My personal best ever was the 4 x 4 Port Vale afternoon an unforgettable drama with high quality football and emotional determination beyond the non-league norm.

Many other memories tumble back and those nobody can take away.

There are just too many memories to mention.

One that sticks in my mind was at Burnley. There was a spell in the first half when we were passing the ball one touch around them just outside their last third and you had to pinch yourself to think it was our little club doing that to the Championship leaders at the time.

My favourite memory is a tough one to pick after so many successes down the years.

My first favourite memory was a 1-0 win over Camberley Town in the Diadora League Div 3. I remember really enjoying the game and thinking i was really enjoying being a Canvey fan as i was still new to it. It was 0-0 and injury time was being played and i was willing us on so badly as we had to catch Collier Row and then the last kick of the game came from Jonah and it flew in low and in the corner. I remember being so happy and that was my first real memory of the club.

Saying that, i have enjoyed every other successful memory as well but that was my first.

Ah, Collier Row, what games they were!

My first match was Collier Row at home, 1995/96 season. Can't remember the score nor who was playing but from then on I was hooked.

i really remember a game home against Billericay must have been 2001, little Tommo scored the winner via a lovely volley in the dying minutes. that memory seems to hold up as well as the trophy final and other such big games

That was the Easter game and I was right behind the net when the ball almost burst through. Anyone taller would've had the shot blocked! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

After the game his Mum embarrassed him by giving him a big hug and a kiss in front of everyone outside the bar.

I remember that game against Billericay it was one of the 1st games I went to. We didn't play well but as ever those master chockers couldn't take advantage and we score with the last kick of the game. I have been hooked ever since and also laughed at Ricay ever since

It was Dover at home - 11/10/03. We were 2-0 down at half-time and came back to win 4-3. We scored in the 81st, 83rd and 90th minute and 528 people were there to witness it.

Hornchurch at home on the last day of the season back in 04. it had felt like forever being runners up and to end the winning season wiping the smile of the chavs was fantastic, then partying till god knows when that evening. aghhhh Wayne’s on the wheels of steel.

'and its hi ho Canvey Island'

All great games! The Dover game was incredible, I was stewarding that day as cover for my dad. When we got our penalty to equalise I was trying to keep everyone back and in order. When Minton scored our fourth I was going mental and promptly forgot all my duties!

Hornchurch was sweet, they were giving it all the mouth at 2-0, but Boylan's hatrick soon shut them up!

My personal favourite was Wigan away, when you look at the fortunes of Wigan since that defeat it shows that we really had an impact on their future. Still remember the ball falling to Gregory, I was thinking "bring it down, slide it in". Instead, Greggors lashes at it with his right foot and almost breaks the back of the net on the volley!

The Gravesend away game the year the won the league was special as well, but it wasn't to be that year.

I've got a fair few memories but one that stuck in my mind was Enfield at the Lane in our last game. 10-nil if I remember correctly.

Remember Bertie banging in a few goals in double quick time. One of the few times I went to the sea wall end to watch the action rather than staying on the main terrace for the second half.

I don't remember the football action so much as a final glance back at the main terrace and seeing the handful of Enfield supporters looking on with semi blank expressions, no acknowledgement from their players who had them relegated and thinking to myself "poor feckers!"

Dover was excellent, my brother was coming down that weekend and my texts to him got increasingly excited as the goals flooded in. England V Turkey was that evening as well wasn't it?

I remember the Hornchurch lot on our last Ryman game giving it all, "Conference league? You're having a laugh!" Then it's 3-2 and not a peep after. First time I saw Keeling play as well, very excited when he joined us.

So many more including Northampton, playing Sarfend on Sky, Burnley, Julian Dicks playing in yellow! If I had to pick just one though it would have to be the 4-4 match - what an awesome day that was.

I was in with some Hornchurch fans when Boylan scored that hattrick. Very sweet.

Best memory has to be the 4-4 with Port Vale. That game had everything!!!
