Best friendly I remember was EFC v the Scum in '98. They played there first team players minus those that had been involved in the World Cup finals. We held them to a 0-0 draw and should have won with a one on one chance towards the end. It was my stag night too so the drinking went on all evening until I ended up in the New River Loop outside the Crown & Horseshoe before it had been cleaned up. Mrs H was none ot happy when I got home!!!!!

Enfield played Spurs pre-season for about 3 years on the trot, in the ealry 80's. There was talk of it becoming a "traditional" regular thing. The first couple of times Spurs brought a pretty much full strength side. I recall seeing Mario Kempes, who was on a pre-season trial with Spurs, play in one of them (6-0 or 6-1 I believe, and Kempes failed to score).

The nest year I think it was 4-1, Graham Roberts scored an og. The nest year it was a reservee/youth team (3-1?)that came and it fizzled out.

Many years ago - in the 60's - I remember QPR coming, and Rodney Marsh playing. I believe he scored, possibly in a 4-1 win for QPR?

Happy and Anelka was rubbish that day.

You are right about Anelka but that's a bit harsh on me. It wasn't until later on that I was totally rubbish. After my swin in the river I smelt like a dustcart too.

I can recollect enfield holding chelsea to a 3-3 in a friendly in the mid 80s chelsea had half a first team with some well known faces ,Roy Wegerle ,Paul Cannoville,John McNaut,Gareth Hall,Eddie Niedsveski. Es equallised in the last minutes with a 25 yard strike from Mark Keen .A big crowd too as I remember.
