that's it then

ah well that's it then, another season of dreams over, most sides have been dispatching wembly by a host of goals,on the current run of things we're looking for a top half of the table position.

in all my years of watching football i have never come across such a less desire to win,or even if desire was there,no knowledge of how to go about applying it.also have never come across so many injuries?ask yourself the question missing are 3 center backs-2 right backs-4 midfielders(not counting haki)2 forwards, and on top of that the goalkeepers have been messed with all season?

Wasn't it Mr. 30 Yrs that said we were stupid in thinking we'd beat Canvey in the cup then turned round and said how great we were after the game ?? I'm not saying we WILL go up , we have a good chance..when we have a fit team .And yes to those tho hate Steve Browne and Martin Deaner and we aren't good enough because of them , I'm not a fan either , but I try to be optomisitic and keep a sense of reality...well I try !

Matches coming up against Berkhampstead, Hornchurch, Wealdstone and Yeading--all teams above us. A good run now and we are still well in the picture. A bad run and we are well out of it. Not optimistic myself as we arn't playing consistently well (15 points from 11 games, and out of 3 cups in 2 weeks--far from consistently well), but as the Hampton and Canvey games show , we can do it sometimes. But there is also quite a fair chance that we will finish further down the league than we did last year.

I'm tending to edge toward the more pessismistic views expressed by 30 yrs Service. Tilbury really highlighted where we will struggle this season. Poor playing surfaces, grounds with hardly anyone in, teams eyeing a big name scalp (which we still are somehow), more 'determination than skill'. We've got plenty of these games away from home still to come and I don't think we've got the fight or the physical strength for it.

That is a good point Gary , we are struggling against the clogger teams in the league and I'm not saying that you and 30 Yrs are wrong in saying that we won't go up , we are playing crappy at the mo but if you all made that comment around January/Feb then I'd say a lot of people would agree but we are/can be a good side , we've shown that and no one can really deny that . Consistency is our main problem and I wont blame injuries for the lack of it as teams like Wembley should be beat no matter . Brownie should change his tactics against these sides . I feel you all are writing our chances off too early , heads up lads !!

Why do you have to be so bloody negative? If it wasn't for Deaner we wouldn't HAVE a club! What is the alternative? And when we were doing very well at the beginning of the season AND in the FA cup there were no cries of anguish then. Its a case of "we're all right when we're winning, but blame someone when things are going badly". Have you got a SENSIBLE and FEASIBLE solution?

Some encouraging news about our continuing next season might help. Will we still be at Wexham Park what is the situation? will the lease be extended? Also the team seems to be taking the shape of previous unsuccessful seasons. Deaner up front, Rainford back, injuries to key players some disappear for weeks, out of all the major cup competitions. Could our season be over by Christmas? we have some tough games coming up, we are not performing away from home were we need to pick up points to catch up with the leaders.

Rebel Yell, that indeed is a true point, but people do and can learn from their mistakes? Is this not also true?

It is fair to say though at present, it appears Mr Deaner has not been successful in his time at the club and continues to disappoint.

Surely the question is, where is the alternative solution?

We all want the best for the club, but how do we get it?

Given the chance, I'd have Mr Deaner out from the club so it can be run within it's limitations, and money can be generated to put the current site back into the clubs name and nobody else's - I think we're agreed on that?

No need to be personally offensive!! Deaner may well have been ineffective at other clubs but again what is YOUR alternative? - A supporters club takeover? - we remember how that was tried before, and how it ended. So come on let's hear YOUR rational alternatives, IF you have got any sensible ones.

I will be perfectly frank and honest with u both, i was a fan for 25 years, went to every home game and most away games, all over the country, and they are still the first result i look for on saturday night over anyone, but and its a big but, i stopped going 6 months after Deaner arrived, felt he wasn't our saviour, had no money and his history preceded him, feel vindicated with that decision has the club has bin in freefall ever since, when it is run professionally and honestly i feel that me and many more will return.

thats it in a nutshell.

The club is to big for messers Deaner and co.

rest my case <img src="/forums/images/icons/mad.gif" alt="" />

The club is too big? Not quite sure about that. The bigger the club, the more potential it has to be run well - which typifies the point that he's not done a good job.

The blame doesn't lie squarely with him though. Steve Browne is as much to blame, if not more, than him for our money troubles. I hope we can get him out sooner rather than later as he's the one causing plenty of the problems almost single handedly.

But agreed, with both of them gone, our gates could potentially double.
