It was good to read in the Enfield Gazette this week that JC said:

we have a lot of small players

and maybe we need to bring in a few more big players

we also need to get in a 30-goal striker from somewhere

players have made mistakes

and so have I.

It's just a shame that these are some of the comments that have been made on here and also by some of the supporters around the ground throughout the season. Constructive criticism never hurt anyone.

Good of Jim to make these comments and it appears that he is already learning from mistakes made and making provision for next season.

Let's see what the future holds?

Don't want to be negative.......BUT......If ONLY Jim had listened to comments and read this Forum around Christmas time...............Oh well!

Us Supporters are not as thick as some make out, generally Supporters views are not far off the mark. Just look back on this Forum !

Anyway, what might have been is just that, so lets look forward with interest to see what Jin does and who he brings in ( and of course, who goes out )

It would be good to hear of details regarding pre-season games. Plenty of other Clubs seem to be getting games and posting them on their web page etc.

Come on you Towners.

Jim had every right to listen to supporters and also the right to dismiss them out of hand.

The shame is that all parties now seem to share the same ideas of how the team should have played.

Oh well, let's look forward to next season(already) and see if we can start adding to our trophy cabinet again.

Jim didn't really have to go online to see what the fans were thinking. I know he reads my column and I like to think my views echo the views of the average supporters. Not everyone but a large section of it.

I always view the forum b4 writing my article and it's funny that my column this week appears to be saying the exactly same thing as his.

I want to see a skillful passing side, keeping possession rather than playing long percentage balls. It can be done, at any level.

Its just harder to do,the lower down the leagues you go.What with poorer playing surfaces.

At present we are just hitting highballs to small forwards and then chasing the second ball, with a hope of winning it back and putting our foot on the ball.Surely it would be better to have a big strong target man alongside the touch players. It would help if he was quick as well, as that would give us another option of the ball over the top to chase.

So yes, our game should always be skill based, but you have to win possesion in order to show that skill, and have the ability to mix it up and change tactics, when different conditions come into play.

Sorry ,but i thought this was a discussion forum to talk about all aspects of Enfield Football club [including team formation and tactics]

Yes, it is ultimately up to Jim to choose what should be done.Just as it ultimately up to us fans,as to whom we have as our manager, and which of us should be voted on and off of the board.Isn't that the reason why we set up the club in the first place?

LS.

If you read TIM's note above, he was talking about how to play the game. Softie's replay was 'What he does about them is between him and those that hold the purse strings!'

My reply to Softie was that JC should discuss the playing matters between himself and the players.

Obviously I should have written that it was no use JC talking to those who hold the purse strings about how to play the game as they are not the ones who are on the pitch!

I'm saying the size of the playing budget has a bearing on the position that can be achieved in the table. This always assumes it is spent wisely.

If we could have bought the Barton Rovers striker maybe we would have been in Ryman Prem for example.

If we hadn't had the players we did have we could be back in the ESL!
