Dover v tonbridge

Was 1 of the 1853 at the game. Score totally flattered Dover. Tonbridge very quick and skilful in midfield and attack and solid at the back and were in complete control for 70 mins but nearly threw it all away. Dover very direct but no creativity and on this showing I wouldn't want any of their players at the Gate next season. With a few additions I think Tonbridge will be tough opponents next season. Highlight was seeing Parmenter's head in his hands when they went 0-3 down. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Am sure most of us would like to have seen that too Mike.Still, although we didnt see it the thought that thats exactly what he did is a consolation prize for not being there to witness it.Did you get a picture of it?

I'm a bit saddened that Dover didn't make it because it would have been good for East Kent and high gates etc. and I also thought their fans were a good bunch.

However, well done to Tonbridge; it sounds like they were the better side.

Falana received his FIRST booking for taking his shirt off, his second was for a push or an elbow.

Looks like it from the highlights FF. Commentary therefore was a little confusing. My mistake. Still, having seen the replay the elbow(though not that obvious to me)was a silly thing to do in those circumstances anyway. The referee was on the spot so he must have seen it correctly & looking at Falanas reaction or should I say NO reaction he most certainly knew he was guilty of such,(no remonstrations with the ref). Falana should have realised he was on a yellow. However, looking at the replay I didnt see a second yellow given anyway but just a straight red which if given for an elbow is the correct procedure anyway.Had Tonbridge been pulled back to 3-3 & then eventually go on to lose the tie it would have been his actions that would have undoubtedly contributed to his teams downfall.Falana going off just made it harder for his team mates yet they managed to hold out anyway...just!
Good for them & tough luck on Dover but magic for JP! l.o.l.

Went to the game and Tonbridge were by far the better side. Dover only threatened from set pieces and were almost totally reliant on long throws aimed at Craig Wilkins. Tonbridge were cruising at 3-0 up when Falana was harshly sent off and only then did Dover look like scoring - they had all the possession as Tonbridge had no outlet with Falana gone. Agree that John Main looks a good player - as he did when he was at Cray - and the Tonbridge keeper had a really good game too. Nobody in the Dover side impressed me and they looked very dodgy at the back. Saw a couple of other Margate fans at the game but missed JP with his head in his hands.

Did Luke Piscina play Jeff? If so did you notice anything "special" about him. They are all raving about him down there,or rather they have been in the past. He is supposed to be an up & coming star of the future.Anything about him if indeed there is something worthy of note,Jeff?

Wilkins left at the end of 2002/2003, and Trott joined at the start of 2003/2004, so probably not.

Yeah Griffiths is a class act, he was the difference against AFC. I personally think in Watts and Griffiths we have a League 2 strike force and Chris Piper should be pushing League 1. Yes he is that good. Hopefully we'll be pushing for promotion next year as well...!!
