Maybe you chose Dagenham because they were successful at the time or because they were winning.

 

Sorry but football is more than just glory hunting or looking for the best team at the right time.

 

I and many more don't care whether Dagenham will be playing in the Conference or that Roberts is a former international. You can dangle things like that in front of us all day.

 

The majority of Canvey fans grew up supporting this team when we were in the Essex Senior League and appreciate the struggle and the way of life that all levels of football bring.

 

So you may have been persuaded to follow Dagenham because of their status. But we are not glory hunting and we are not shallow football supporters like everyone else nowadays who think you have to follow someone in some sort of respectable league. 'If your not in the Conference, you're just not worth it'

 

We support our club because it is our local club and a club that means a lot to us. It doesn't matter what division we play in as long as we can support our team.

 

If you dont understand that then you carry on supporting a team that you chose purely on status and success. We'll stick with loyalty thanks, like genuine football fans.

you are true. Canvey don't exactly have a lot of fans but the ones they have got are good footie fans. I chose to support them coz i live there and i only started supporting them when they were relegated from the conference to the ryman league i fink bout 6 or 7 years ago

I would like to say sorry to all Canvey fans for what i said early on in this forum. You have some fantastic fans even through tough times. You climbed six league in ten years with little money to spend so for that i say well done. i don't exactly have any problems with canvey. i hope u can forgive me.
