Trotty claims he has decided who is leaving. He will be releasing players over the next few days.

He says he has been inundated with phone calls from players who want to come here since he was given the job. He has already lined up 2 players who are close to signing with another 4 all in his plans providing the budget is there for it.

Also says that he will be changing the training to bring it bang up to date, to get away from the artificial surface at Strood & with the aim of preventing so many injuries.

Very valid point about the training-obvious really.

makes one wonder why we stuck with artificial pitch so long !!

Nice also to see some communication direct from the manager as to whats going on.

We used to hear what CK was up to, about 30seconds before start of season.

Surely the RT way keeps us all interested

I'd guess it will be somewhere in central or west Kent. Agree though that artifical surfaces are not good for training. The legs must take a pounding especially when it comes to fitness work. I said that the training must have been poor and it seems I was right. There was a lack of sharpness and the players often looked on the large side. The players clearly had reservations and I dont blame them.

I would be happy for him to be even more scathing. To be honest it sounds like the whole training regime under CK was awful and you could see it in the players. Somebody would sign and look in good condition and then within a month they would seem out of shape and downhearted. So pleased that we have Trotty in and he is not afraid to put his own stamp on things.

CK gave Margate FC a lot, in terms of success, so is worth respect, admiration, and his renumeration.

He was a great manager, and the reason I started supporting this great club.

Trotty has also given us a lot, in a short time, and I think there is more to come.

I do not think admiration for one makes it impossible to admire the other, it's just that times and circumstances change, and we have to go with that.

I think that is a bit OTT,SSS,we should aways appreciate CK for what he has done for this club, when he took us to the conf; he was the best around, times change and hopfully for the better but you have to admitt that he has done MORE than most for MFC,lets hope Trotty can take us forward, but never forget the people that got us there, its called respect.

I have to agree with TonyM about respect and would add that we should also not forget factors regarding what is likely to be the situation for Robin Trott in the forthcoming season.

With the greatest respect we should bear in mind that he could not lose in the last few games of the season anyway. Judging by a lot of the posts that I read on here Chris Kinnear would have been blamed if we had gone down, not Robin Trott. Who knows whether or not we would have achieved the same results with CK - after all, the players involved were all the same ones who had been there most of the season weren't they? And if my memory is correct all brought there by Chris Kinnear. Surely there is a moral there somewhere?

We shouldn't forget either that one of the tasks given to RT is that of getting us into the 1st Round of the FA Cup but he hasn't got long to achieve that, around November, and he has to get us through the earlier stages which start fairly soon into the new season.

My understanding is that there are likely to be any number of players scouting around now for new clubs and therefore it is not unreasonable to assume that they will be ringing their contacts on other clubs for a place. The situation here surely is that it doesn't matter who they are, RT is going to have to put up a really good reason to get them and justify their appointment if he is going to commit part of his budget to any player. I am sure that he knows who he wants and will bear that in mind.

CK gave us some wonderful years at Margate and for all of us the last three have been difficult, in fact I would guess for him it has almost been like trying to run a Sunday League side, no ground etc, but competing in a higher league.

It should always be borne in mind that it was not him that had us relegated from the Conference. It should also be borne in mind that he had difficulties in signing players for various reasons not of his own making, or even whether there was going to be a Margate Football Club. I do know that others within the structure have worked hard to ensure that the club continued.

Chris Kinnear's contributions to Margate Football Club were quite properly recognised at the Presentation evening by the club officials and we should all do no less than that. Robin Trott is not going to have an easy job - expectations are placed on him, 1st Round FA Cup, FA Trophy Run and promotion and it seems that he has one season to do it.

The deed has been done, Chris Kinnear deserves our respect and thanks for what he has achieved for Margate FC and Robin Trott deserves support for what he is going to try and do.
