i see from the BBC election site that Slough is once again under No Overall Control...

Party Previous +/- 2006

Labour 15 3 18

Conservative 7 -2 5

Liberal Democrat 6 -1 5

Resident or Ratepayer 5 -1 4

Liberal 3 0 3

UK Independence Party 1 0 1

Others 4 1 5

this means another year of the BILLD then does it?

Depends entirely on whether the coalition holds together. Nearly all the non-Labour need to group together in order to form a controlling coalition.

Lots of dealings I hope , because the conservation group themselves sided last time with the others , has showed that they will lose more votes..lots of conservatives were hurt by the alliance with the other groupings..lets see what happens this time...

Highly unlikely though that the Conservatives would go into an alliance with Labour! Given the pounding Labour took at a National level, it just shows how poorly this alliance has performed and how disillusioned people are with them that Slough results are almost the opposite with Labour gaining seats.

yes and survey's don't balance with the votes from last night ! Votes count... While the rest of the country were voting labour out..slough had 3 gains and lost one seat by 7 votes...the people of Slough are happier ? don't think so...

Chris, not at it again, just feeding back what was being announced over the radio and press last week. As it was supposedly a truly independant survey carried out, it made last nights results even more suprising.

Yes but we all know that surveys can be misleading .... the votes proved this last night... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

From a logical perspective I totally agree with you, Roger. The Conservatives have been hit by siding with the clowns but politically, it would be bizarre if they decided to get into bed with Labour!

I don't think it is absolutely certain what either the Lib Dems or the Tories will do.

Seeing the results come in last night it was clear that the voters are unhappy with the coalition. That cost the Tories two seats and they nearly lost LSM yet again. If I were Derek Cryer I would not want to be associating myself with that shower. But then again he had an endorsement from Stokes on his election flyer.
