On Too Many Occasions This Season...

Recommended Posts

...there's been too many lapses of concentration and too little following of instructions; resulting in poor goals conceded (as in Wivenhoe's second) and too much reliance on high and long balls despite instructions to play it on the ground, utilising the formation selected.

Are these things that explain why individual players haven't progressed their careers further or can they be addressed in training? Perhaps we rely too much on pure fitness?

The Players used the long high ball so often that I wonder if they had any "instruction" as you suggest.

The majority of teams in the SFL seem to use route one, but most have a big guy up front who can hold the ball.

Town played their best football when they played it on the deck and therefore got the best out of the Players they had in the team.

It will be interesting to see what the Management team have learnt about this League for next season. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

If I wanted to see big blokes kicking balls high into the air I'd go up the road and watch Bradford Bulls.

I don't. THey don't call Association Football "the beautiful game" for nothing. I hate to see it abused.

"There is no substitute for skill". Stanley Rous I believe.

Brazil 1970..... ah, those were the days....
