Has anyone any thoughts as to what the mascot should be?

How about a guide dog for the linesman?

I think the various points about marketing and advertising the club are well made, and if the general feeling is that more could be done then we are all guilty ( after all it's our club ). We used to distribute posters advertising the next three home games and I'm sure it would not take much to do that again. Dartford have posters in most shops and pubs in Dartford town centre. I think we all agree that the people already involved in running the club could not be expected to give up any more time, so perhaps the fans should get together, chuck in a few ideas and see if there is anything we can do.

get as many supporters as we can to the Fleet, buying merchandise and refreshments. Hopefully that way the finances will improve.

Surely for us to sell more refreshments, the arrangements for buying these must be changed.

At present on matchdays, you have two separate "bars", one for Food and one for Drinks. Surely the club would sell more drinks if, when buying a burger, you could also get a drink to wash it down.

I have seen a number of people queue up at the burger bar, order a burger and a drink only to be told that they must queue up again to obtain a drink. I imagine a very small percentage of fans will bother to queue up again for a drink. Surely, if this was adapted, the clubs sales of drinks, chocolate etc. would increase, thus creating more monies to buy mascot suits and pay for advertising.

Just a suggestion, but it is something that has bothered me for a little while now. Moan Over..

This one is out of our hands, as the burger bar etc are run by an outside company who pay us a fee. But I agree it is sooooooooooo stupid!

Why not bring a friend , that way one could get the burgers while the other gets the drinks that way we will make lots more money.

What i meant dave was that if he brought a friend that would be one more person paying to get in to watch. I do agree that it is silly having to buy drinks and burgers at different kiosks.

I've not really any idea what the mascot should be of! But its got to be a) fun, B) appeal to kids, which means it has to be a "larger than life" character and C) not too scary (don't want the kiddies crying now do we!). Have a look at:

http://www.taylorcointl.com/mascots/mascots.htm

You just need to imagine them in the Red and White of the Fleet.

With the nickname "The Fleet" and the picture of a Ship on the Clubs Crest I guess there are certain military undertones so maybe the "Comic Trojan" would work, especially when the fans start chanting "Andy Fords Red and White Army". Failing that maybe a Pirate - being a sea faring creature (the one pictured isn't very good).

Anyhow, I'm sure someone can come up with a far better idea.

Now I must really try doing some work for the rest of the day . . .

As there is only the one ball on the club badge how about a comic Adolf Hitler... I can just see him now goosestepping up and down the touchlines throwing the occasional nazi salute to the Wallis Park end and leading the community singing of " come on you reds" , " Andy Fords red and white army" and "Tomorrow belongs to me"

If that doesn't amuse the kids then nothing will.
