I was worried for a minute the FA might contact our chairman about Justin. Win on Saturday and the Spurs legend will have a statue commissioned down Champion Hill. Albeit 2 feet tall, and looking more like Wayne Burnett but its still an honour!

 

Whats the betting CE winds up in Fisher tracksuit for next year?! Justin's afinity with Essex goes so far that he seems to want to tackle the counties unemployment single handedly going on previous form. All that South London money going to Essex bank accounts, its not right!! ;-)

It is not a good apointment as Steve Mclaren has never done anything big with Middlesborough and Middlesborough play boring football and i fear that is what is going to happen under Steve Mclaren. Having said although i dont like Steve as England manager i will support him as he is part of the English set up, but as soon as we do badly in a major competition under him then that support is gone.

Yeah but that goes for anyone Al, if England do badly in a major tournament the press turn like wildfire regardless of who it is!

 

I think a manager is judged mainly on his success in the transfer market which boils down to the signings success on the field. If you've got the better players you should win the game 8 times out of ten. Look at Sunderland, they can talk tactics all day long but if you haven't got the quality of player you'll struggle.

 

In short my point is England have a well set side full of quality that picks its self. I don't think the England manager makes much difference. He see's the players 10 days a year and has a full coaching staff to hand out the cones. I don't see why such a fuss has been made over it...

I pretty much agree with alexs' points above. im glad we have an english manager, but to be honest McClaren has done nothing to warrant the position. It should have been peter taylor, or harry redknapp in my opinion.
