A POLTROON'S CHRISTMAS CAVALCADE  - Volume 1

It's Christmas time, there?s no need to be afraid...

Well there is now, as the third release from Poltroon Recordings sees us in

a darkly festive mood.

Hot on the heels of Hooper's sooperb ShyPoo EP comes Volume One of our Christmas Cavalcade.

A glorious EP featuring 2 new tracks from Hooper the boy-wonder, our new

friend Kruton, (who has been releasing electroid tech tracks on Mark Broom?s

PURE PLASTIC imprint for some time), and some wierdos called

We Three Blings. Not to mention The Brigadier himself, who was dragged from

his Gentleman?s club one wet afternoon in order to record his Christmas

blessing to you all...  Ho, ho, ho.

1. Hooper - Little Drummer Boy

This most glorious of all Christmas anthems gets the full-on Hooper

treatment. A triumphant march to the

heavens, Little Drummer Boy is replete with giant, Close Encounter organs,

celestial Pa Rubba Pum Pum vocals, soaring guitar and spaced-out FX. [censored]

far out.

2. We Three Blings - Silent Night

WTB celebrate the Epiphany in fearsome East End style, clicking and

deep-grinding their way through this Austrian Christmas classic. Using real

life mental patients to lay down the vocals, We Three Blings take

Alan Lomax?s field recording methods to the cerebral outer reaches. Quite

what Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar would have made of it...  Christmas time

at the Asylum! Beware!

3. Hooper - Santa Don?t Hurt Me

Hooper plunges the Cavalcade further into the festive nightmare with a

revelatory exposé of evil Saint Nick.

Doom laden barrelhouse piano and apocalyptic lead guitar accompany the dark balladeer into his personal Christmas Hell. ŒWeen? meets King Herod - Do Not Play To Your Children.

4. Kruton - Ding Dong (kruton mix)

Fusing Ligeti-like moon chorals to monstrous sub bass and taut, edgy beats,

Kruton has produced a bona fide, bunker-room, yuletide classic - merrily on

high indeed! A Christmas [****!!****]-kicker.

5. The Poltroon Brigadier (with Boy Choir) - A Christmas Canticulum

Closing the cavalcade is a personal message of love and hope from the

Poltroon Brigadier himself.

As he would say, Christus Equus Benedictat.
